Luna has such an interesting relationship with the sky/sun/moon, so putting her in dramatic lighting seemed like the way to go :3

light beams can be tricky - it's a great idea to look at references to get an idea of hos transparent/blurry/faded light can be!

I like to go for wings that look like they can actually carry whoever they are attached to, even though they'd have to be even bigger for absolute realism.
as you said, the bigger the wings, the more details they need to look good.

A saw a lot of artists drawing big "wings" but failed with all the feathers being the same size or with a questionable structure. And not just "butt wings"
