Wow, this looks wonderful!
I got two questions for you:
What do you call this style and how do you achieve it?
I had plans on building a little solar system but had no idea how to do it

Thank you. I'm glad you think so.
First question: I don't know exactly how to call the style, because it's my very own one.. I would categorize it somewhere under 3D, Cartoon and Space art.. I'm sorry that I can't name an exact style..
How to archieve it is nearly as hard as the first question. I can't really tell you how to achieve it, but if you got a bit of time I may teach you how to do it.. I'm using the Open source Software Blender. Unfortunately it's a really advanced software, what means that you need some time to learn how to use it.
Nevertheless there are a few tips I may give you:
1. Use a nebular or Galaxy in the background. You can find some good and not to hard tutorials on how to create such things in Gimp or Photoshop. I can recommend this one as it was the one I used for my background: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DOTsF…
2. Use some Effects. My favourite effect is Dispersion (This blurry red and blue at the edges, you may also find it under Chromatic Aberation..), but also Vignette (Darker edges) or a simple Glare effect are doing a good job on this kind of images.
3. Decide on the style you want to have. Photorealism is always more complex than this smooth toony style..
4. Finally it's all about the material. If you want to have ice you have to do it glossy. If you want to have snow you can choose just a bright color or a really subtle Texture (For example this one: www.cgtextures.com/texview.php…
I hope this helps you a bit..

Oh, das ist schön. Das macht das ganze etwas leichter. ^^
Kein Problem. Ich helfe immer gerne.
Habs mir grad mal angeschaut.

Frohe Weihnachten!

Ist mir eine Freude.
Ja. Ist sehr praktisch, wenn man z.B. Bäume platzieren möchte. ^^
Okei, das ist schön.
Dir auch Frohe Weihnachten,
Kai
