As interpretation.....that I said I was going to do a while ago!
The slab of meat to the obvious is the horrid subject, bleeds all over the place when you touch. We have a butcher, and 5 boys.
-The butcher may be interpertated as being a creepy of loving his, in a morbid profession of serving animals part for food consumption. But let's go that he's willing to teach the boys and willing to sell cut meats in his shop.
-Now the boys, each reacts differently to the cutting of this lesson. From left to right.
The first boy has a solemn reaction too it, knowing the meat we eat are animals.
The second boy despairs at seeing the process, and the third boy turns away. These two are in different stages of rejection to the meat, the 2nd boy will eat meat but will never talk about the process, the 3rd being shadowed by the 2nd will never eat it.
To contrast with the 3rd, the fourth boy absolutely enjoys the carnage. The bully to say, he probably will torture those who are weaker in a show of dominance.
The fifth boy looks on. There was a surprised shock, but not a dead silence. He'll be silent for the rest of day, and his parents wonder what's wrong with him.

I really enjoyed it. So interesting to hear your point of view.
In this case, i really had the same idea by painting this.
But above all i symbolise meat as the adult. I see this guy also teaching these kids to be adult.
