Description RATRIDER
A Skaven rider on a giant rat.
The Skaven rider©Games Workshop,is a conversion and very old (maybe 12-15 years ?)...
The riding animal consists of green stuff and many office clamps.
Only the rat's head comes from my bitzbox.
The plants and the trees is selfmade, the background is selfmade, and the fog comes from a small smoke machine.

Splendid diorama! What did you use for the fall leaves under the rat? They are beautiful! The details on the rat are great - purple tongue, pink tail. The skaven looks good too. Those eyes on the head must have been murder to get right. I've painted a lot of minis, so I know how hard it is to get the whites and dots on the eyes.

WHOA WHOA WHOA -- WAIT A MINUTE - The rat is greenstuff??? Ok, I missed that detail. That's amazing. You sculpted the face, teeth, legs, etc. with greenstuff?? Well done. Well done!

Yes the Giant Rat is made from grren stuff, buuuut the head of the rat ...Only the rat's head comes from my bitzbox.
The fall leaves come from :
shop.battlefield-berlin.de/kat…
My trick for the eyes are.
I paint the eyes red, a little yellow dot, and "glossy Varnish mixed with red ink". and later a thin layer of glossy varnish.
Best regards
Volla

Oh, I meant the eyes on the severed heads. Getting those black dots centered in the whites. It usually takes a couple steps for me. After the black dots, reshaping with white again, then doing the flesh above and below the white again.

Yes, this always happens to me with the painting of so small eyes ...
Also here I put a drop "glossy varnish" to the conclusion.

Good idea with the glossy varnish. I look for matte sealant for my miniatures, but for the eyes glossy varnish makes very good sense.

Such a lovely paint job! I adore that base, the smoke is great, and the greenstuff rat-body looks quite good! The environment is lovely, those trees and foliage are great.
