Luanne and I used to play violin together in a music camp when we were five years old. There's actually a video of that somewhere... how cute.I think that she's actually the person I've known for the longest time excluding my parents that I still talk to. Wierd!
Anyways, she came back to Montreal to visit and we had a blast snapping off some shots for her.
It doesn't really show in the picture but her legs were trembling!

nice!! the focus of your eye is immediately drawn to the subject. the model is slightly unclear though, is that because of the filter or the compression?

Well, she was taken a good 100/150 feet away at least! Theres a little loss of detail at those lengths

You don't post very often but when you do they always seem to be a gooder! I can't find anything that I don't like about the shot and my stoooopid eyes always are drawn to something that is off rather than something that is right on. And the only thing that caught my eye was the music lines across the post and how they go over the post and into the wall and don't seem to blend like the rest do. But then if I hadn't seen those I wouldn't even have noticed the notes & lines around the image. So is that a problem? I don't think so. I think the edit on this shot is one of your best. And there wasn't much room to improve on the others.

The music was a quick overlay. Now that I look at it in large Im not 100% sure I completely like it... I think it works well when its small cuz its like some shadow of notes...but in big its a bit too prominent?

Well everyone's monitor is different but I thought if anything it could have been a bit more prominent. It would be personal preference but I like the subtlety of how you have it now. My eye was first drawn to her as it should be. Then as you start to look at all the interesting things going on you begin to discover them instead of them slapping you in the face like some people create. It just seemed like it all blended so nice except for around that post where it looked like it was on top of the image and even then that doesn't really jump out either. Perhaps if you used a displacement map to curve it onto the post and wall it would have melded into the image better. I dunno Ben .... I still think it is one of your better shots that I have seen. You just asked for a critique

i really like this composition but i think the diagonal lines in the bottom right should go the opposite direction, that way they would lead the viewers eye to Luanne instead of distract the eye away from her.
