Okay Sherman's gotten a few tweaks. I still kept the basic design, overall.
This is kinda sloppy but oh well. I suck at refs.

So anyway, he's a member of the species Kijiinu, (roughly translated from Japanese to be "pheasant dog"). This creature is related to the Ubudokoro, Canon's species, (tr. "soft skull"), both of which are creatures in a fictional universe I'm developing for one of my many stories.

Sherman is like the whitest name ever...like, nothing Japanese. Well that's because he's the prototype for all Kijiinus, I just named him that.

Like all Kijiinus, Sherman has these features:

- A rim of thick skin around his eyes, white in color. It's kind of like a "pea pod".
-No ears; just slits that lead to the ear canal.
-Exposed cartilage of the nose, like the eyes, they have rims of white skin around them, and the inside is red. Kind of how you see the holes near the nasal/eye area of sinuses in skulls.
-White gums, a bright red tongue, and black, peglike teeth (for insect/plant diet).
-Seal-like whiskers sprouting from top of head and muzzle.
-A white marking in the middle of the forehead.
-Spots on flanks resembling those found on fallow deer, these are uniquely patterned for every Kijiinu.
- "Pheasant spots" on neck and chest. These, like human fingerprints, are differently patterned and positioned in each induvidual.
-Probably the most unusual would be the feet. They are 'stored' in cavities near the lower legs unless they are needed. When they are needed they come out kinda like 'sleeves' lol, here's a diagram . They are exposed in self-defense or aggression. The third finger never has claws.

Kijiinus in general:

-They are [usually] always black, white, and red. The red markings range from a yellow-orangish scarlet to maroon.
-The eyes are always red, no exceptions.
-The black areas can sometimes be a deep chocolate brown, but this is very rare. Another mutation is the white areas being black and the black areas white.
