Yes, both options Jumping, and doing nothing will end him up dead ( ), BUT, how about running? Sonic can break the sound barrier of... I don't know, based from my memory and calculations, 300+m/s, but a bullet of a .22 (just an example) goes FASTER! at around 860 or 900+ m/s. SO sonic truly is dead? Not exactly, Blaze here isn't really good with weaponry, she fires derringer in a flexed arm, if that's not enough, Sonic here, however, has faster acceleration, kicking in at mach 1 (yes, he produces a sonic boom) is 1 - 2 seconds while a round in a not really existent 1911 in derringer size, needs to be chambered and hammered before it can fire, So if sonic runs he can definitely live to see another day.
