EDIT 2: Holy crap this looks shit on my new monitor, I'm either gonna fix this up these holidays or do a complete new one. I'm sure he had blue hair at some point, might try work with that.

EDIT: Taken it out of the WIP zone with the fixing of a few anatomy mistakes and the addition of more texture. He still looks plasticy, and obviously more can be done, but anything more I do will be casual touchups rather than determined fixing. Basically 90-95% finished due to my still novicey skill not being able to take it further. I will work on composition next, really I will. It's just intimidating.

So I wouldn't call it realism, but I still tried to pull off realistic aspects, like colour texture etc. There's still not enough texture, I'm way too timid and erase it whenever I put it in because it looks too dark. Like all my digital stuff he looks all plasticy and such, but I'm working on it.

The process for this was basically black and white underpainting, then getting a colour mode brush to put down a few base colours as a ref point then going from there. I found it a lot easier than straight colour as I'm a monochromist at heart.

Yeah, I know monochromist isn't a word, but it should be.

Roughly 10 hours over 2 days (that's fast by my standards)
