Alright, I finally have it up! The eagerly awaited tutorial for my Legend of Zelda bomb. It's my very first time making a tutorial. I hope it looks alright and makes sense.

DAS Clay- White (this stuff is magical. It's an air dry clay that doesn't crack. Sadly, I found it after I started the bomb) : [link]

Paper Clay (I don't really recommend this anymore, becauase of the added work filling in cracks, which means more time sanding, ugh. I would definitely recommend DAS, though) : [link]

My father voices concern about it not being strong enough for me to carry with me at the convention. Will it be strong enough to take around with me?

I did not do anything to reinforce mine so there is a risk of damage, especially since it is a bit top heavy. But, you are always welcome to make modifications of your own. Especially, if dad has some ideas!
Β I've been planning on coating mine with a layer or two of resin, but that needs sanding as well and I haven't tested the technique yet. Although, I've been told by countless sources that it is a great way to sturdy up your weaponry and armor.Β

What would you reccommend instead of paper clay?

I would recommend DAS, hands down. It's an air dry clay that doesn't crack, unlike most air dry clays. It is still light weight when dry and reasonably priced.
If you make one, I would love to see the finished piece!

LOZ stands for Legend of Zelda, the video game.
That sounds pretty sweet! What is Urethane plastic, though? I've heard of friendly plastic but not that. It seems pretty nifty.

oh. zelda. lmao. duh. [link] carries urethane. its an impact resistant plastic. high impact urethane is what the skin on modern car bumpers is made from. urethane is easily painted and pigmented.

Awesome! You think this would work for making a gun? I'm working on a few guns for a cosplay group. One of them I have to make 2 copies of and I was going to cast it out of resin but I was looking into other materials. Plus, the guns are a bit big and what I have to make molds dries way to fast for items this big. Might you have some suggestions for the molding process, that you prefer. That would be super helpful.

urethane is used for casting guns frequently. urethane rubber is good for casting hammers, axxes, and the like as you can smack someone w/ them. for film at least.
