Thankfully, most of the people on this site don't think that way...everyonce in a while, though, there's a bible-thumper or two who thinks they have to "vanquish the evil in peoples hearts" >>;
Yeah, if you believe something to be impossible, vocalize this belief, and then witness that Chaos Demons make the impossible possible, you would know from then on that Chaos Demons do make the impossible possible and that now nothing is impossible. :B

LightningPhoenix In reply to Vrynil [2007-07-19 07:56:40 +0000 UTC]
I actually consider the bible suspect because of it's contradictions . Word-of-god or not, it's passed through the editorship of hundreds of humans. And we all know how good the human race is at acts of stupidity . The same is probably true of all of the major religions.
Anyway, people talking about "evil in people's hearts" and involving a religion stating the perfectness of god don't realise the contradiction - if god is perfect, he doesn't make mistakes, so the human race being partly evil is deliberate, and therefore doesn't need changing, unless it can be proved god was trying to build self-programming robots instead of ones which are programmed via revelations and prophets.
"now nothing is impossible"
Wouldn't that involve violating the laws of mathematics? It's kind of a built-in factor of the universe that even Chaos Demons couldn't do that. Still, what they can do is close enough to "nothing is impossible" that you can see it on a clear day, possibly while standing on top of a pile of horrified, newly insane mathematicians and/or physicists. I suppose I shouldn't pick holes in such an interestingly cool creature design though (lets assume they can do anything that doesn't actually cause the universe to implode due to a logic violation, which doesn't actually exclude much). If they don't eat, how do they reproduce? The normal way for mammals, or some way which would normally be considered impossible for humanoids (splitting in two, perhaps)?

Vrynil In reply to LightningPhoenix [2007-07-19 16:03:21 +0000 UTC]
Yes it would and yes they would. :3
I based them completely on the impossible, so of course there are holes such as "why don't they eat" and "how do they reproduce", etc... And it's just a concept for a fantasy realm, so I didn't both explaining any in-depth scientific explanations for it [and this is one of few like that, lol]. The possibilities are endless with these creatures, so if the human mind considers it "impossible", it can be done.

LightningPhoenix In reply to Vrynil [2007-07-20 09:34:05 +0000 UTC]
I don't care why they don't eat, since they are magical, one may assume they are thaumivores (feed directly off magic). I suppose they would reproduce in whichever way the nearest human thought was least possible. Even fantasy realms have rules, otherwise stories tend to fall apart. Still, the only rules that they can't violate are the ones they couldn't think of violating because as soon as they do so, they cease to exist. Like I said, it doesn't exclude much, and fantasy realms tend to be short on math and mathematicians, so presumably they can do anything.
