Wow thanks a lot!
I used a special paint called iron-micaceous enamel, mixed with acrylic and classic enamel paint. It's a kind of paint used for example on railings, or any parts which should simulate the wrought iron. It has a granular texture and a matte finish, exactly the result I wanted to achieve.

Seems to be missing a few things seen in the reference but overall I like this gun a lot. How did you accomplish the speckling look (I hope I'm actually seeing that and it's not just my eyes playing tricks)?

The leather straps and the tusk were applied later, you can see them in the cosplayer picture, into the "Related works" of the comment. The dents were made with a cutter and a screwdriver.
