Description
Another attempt to make a T-Rex based on a little U$2 miniature I bought. The proportions for the miniature did not favor the movement I was looking for, but surely helped for my drawing and composition. This time I used a lot of references to convey a scene with nice dappled light, some mystery, depht, a fairly realistic vegetation and took some liberty to make his arms a bit bigger to avoid the poor T-rex to be embarassed by no one.I also tried to add some elements of storytelling, but I failed to make a composition that favored another element than just the T-Rex. Tyrannosaurids might not have necessarily been feathered though.

Yeah, I'm kinda torn about doing feathers or not. My base model for this T-Rex is a bit of a mix from Jurassic Park's "classic" T-Rex design and the recent model byΒ RJ Palmer . He made a very detailed research from fossiles and tissues from the T-Rex and he ended up withΒ this model here. Β I recommend you to read the article posted on the artwork he concludes is very likely adult T-Rex had not feathers.

Thanks for the answer, maybe I'm not very updated, some time ago I read an article about tests on the presence of plumage on t rex, and even some fossils that preserve the structure of the feather (which is very rare given the deterioration of the feathers), however it is a long time that I do not follow the argument, therefore, considering the rapid evolution of the scientific community, things are likely to have changed.

Thankyou! Well, something I tried in this one that I liked is to use light to show depht. So you have layers of environment with light and dark consecutively to one another. This gives the feeling that the environment goes on and on.
