Description
This was the Miss Confederacy pagent held at the Jefferson Davis Monument in Fairview, Kentucky.
They hold this contest the first weekend in June to celebrate Jefferson Davis' birthday.

My daughter, and her friend have known each other since they were little, they lost touch when we got out of the hobby for a while. They found each other again and now go to events together. It was her friend that talked her into entering the Miss Confederacy pagent, so now they are both Miss Confederacy, my daughter is the new, Hannah is the old.

They judge the contestants on how authentic their clothing is for the time period, along with hair styles and accessories the young ladies are wearing/ adorning.
The judges also ask the contestants what all they are carrying in their baskets/purses/carpet bags. The judges also ask the ladies what undergarments they are wearing.

She was wearing the following:
Stockings, pantaloons, a chemise, corset, corset cover, hoop, over peticoat, skirt, undersleeves and her bodice.
A smart looking hat with hatpin and her hair was held neatly in a bun.
She had a chatiline that held a pair of scissors, her fan and her watch.
In her carpet bag she had an extra pair of gloves, a quil and ink well along with paper to write to her loved one, a book, a hankercheif, and a housewife with a bone needle and thread.
