Been overdue for this one. Mufasa's pride is next up, though I'm just trying to get as many of these headshot/character design pictures done before my family tree, as well as get through my projects. Anyways, here we have Simba's pride all together, I want to say at the start of Simba's reign. Some of the lionesses are native, others came in from other lands to help replenish the numbers decimated under Scar's neglectful, hellish regime, hence why there's quite a bit of diversity here. Out of all 11 lionesses here, sans Tiifu and Zuri, only 9 make it to Kiara and Kovu's wedding day, having lost their lives in the final fight. If you include Zuri and Tiifu, there are an even amount of Pridelanders and former Outsiders present during the final scene.

Starting in the top right corner, we start with the pale-ish yellow lioness beaming down at her granddaughter is Ukweli(truth), Chiku(talkative) and Busara's(wisdom) mother and Tiifu's grandmother. Ukweli is the lioness who says 'my how you've grown' during Kiara's hunt. She was a great teacher and huntress during her time. She and Akilah tragically are two Pridelanders who lost their lives during the final battle. Chiku(with the pale ear rims) is Tiifu's mother with Ni and is as bubbly and friendly as her name suggests. Busara is much more calmer then her twin, but is still a friendly soul and a doting aunt to her niece.

One the back left side are Rahimu(mercy) and Sikia(harmony). Rahimu, the grey lioness/greenish sclera/'Quirk', was originally from Ayaba's pride(aka Malka's mother) who immigrated to the Pridelands after Scar's defeat/Simba's ascension to help replenish the dwindling pride numbers. Sikia, is the daughters of one of Mufasa's lionesses and helped the new pridesisters settle into their new home. Despite her name, Sikia has a sharp tongue, a somewhat dark, insensitive sense of humor, and is pretty open about her feelings, often to the annoyance/shock of others. Rahimu, on the other paw, is sweet, quiet and usually a mediator for arguments. It was a surprise when the two announced they were girlfriends, though they've since been acknowledged and even referred to as the 'sun and moon' girls, opposites, yet still always together.

On the front-left side are Farisi(capable) and Maisha(grace), two more lionesses who were brought into the pride from another land. As twins, the two are rarely seen sperate from each other. Both are excellent huntresses and fighters, as well as advisors for the royal family. They're based on the lionesses watching in shock/sadness as Kiara runs into the den sobbing and the ones with Simba when first confronting Zira.

On the right we have Hasnaa(beauty) and her daughter Zuri, Hasnaa's sister Laini(smooth)/'Hue', and their mother/Zuri's grandmother, Akilah(intelligent). I wanted to go with a bit of brains/beauty notion with the family names. Laini was one of the lionesses, along with Busara, who blocked Kiara from Kovu originally before their respective nieces, Zuri and Tiifu, took over next. Laini was one of the first lionesses Hasnaa confided in about her daughter's father before she felt ready to reveal the truth. She shares her niece's love for self-care and beauty treatments, so much it became a bit of a joke that Laini was Zuri's 'real mother'.

Lastly, laying her head down next to Hasnaa, the brown lioness with the red eyes is Sanaa(radiance). She came to be a part of Mufasa's pride when she ran away from her old pride. She later would vouch for her sister Uhuru(Chumvi/Kula's mother), for her to stay in the Pridelands after fleeing with her cubs. Loyal, considerate, and strong, she often would help Kiara sort through her feelings of inadequacy and anxiety by sharing her own experiences in her pride with her. Sanaa is also in a relationship with Laini. Also, in my TLK Swapped universe , she is the mother of Ajali and Naasir.

I did try to keep their color schemes with the ones we see in the film in mind, though obviously bolder and brighter for some. I might do some screencap redraws in the future to showcase the new designs. I had already made many already, but for Rahimu, Ukweli, Busara, Laini, and Akilah I came up with their designs here. Rahimu was the most interesting one for me to do, given her otherwise drab pelt in warm-pelt central, though I like the added diversity she adds. I decided to give her sclera a greenish tint to help her stand out more and keep her close to her original design .

I really like how the final product turned out, though I actually hadn't anticipated ending with groups of lionesses with similar colors, aside from Tiifu and Zuri's families. Probably will start on Mufasa's pride next. Glad I actually got a complete palette for Simba's pride now.
