Description Another gestural Wacom sketch, this one's probably the roughest of all of them but I kinda like it. Just a quick loose concept of a tank. Although there have been a lot of mecha and a walking tank uploaded there will still be some traditional style armor in the story.

Can't say I really like the plating on the track wheels, but those tubular extensions are very intriguing. Are they for amphibious operation or someting? It also looks like it might impede the turet movement, but looking at it again it also looks like it already is limited due to its construction.

Yeah the plates are pretty odd and to be sure if I end up doing a nice CG paint it'll prob end up a bit different. The design, like the Blidhertz J3 is a fixed forward gun with limited movement, a throwback to WWII tanks obviously. The tube indeed were overblown piping and if it went amphibious they would be well above the water. They were more part of the crazy spontaneity of belting it out but yeah that was kinda the idea.

Good stuff. Glad your going to keep original armour in the story. One thing I don't understand in some anime and films is how they just seem to make treads obsolete, when in my opinion they wouldn't be just because they have walking or flying versions.

I agree. I love classic armor so you bet I plan to have it in there. The way combat will be in this story is going to be unusual. The FOIL combat is an odd notion of chivalry and honor based ideals. There will still be distance based artillery, sniping, and missile style attacks along with close quarters small arms and heavy FOIL arms fire but when FOILs clash with blades it's about honor and rivalry. I'm simplifying this but the basic idea is they're like tribal gladiators in a sense. Tanks and such are something local political blocs and smaller political entities will often have for defense of neutral cities and towns. Tanks are also used in support roles with FOIL combat.

Thanks man If you dig this feel free to peep out the previous 3 designs I posted, all the same basic rough approach. I have a lot to do anymore, and only so much time, so with so many ideas kicking around in my head I plan to get out as many as I can. Using this approach is very fast.

Coolio Yeah I do too, I will be posting a lot of this kind of stuff, along with the more refined stuff. There's always something about a gesture though, the randomness, the interesting things that just happen. More and more that kind of thing is ending up in my final designs.
