I don't know what other theories had to Riku leaving the keyblade for his other self, but I immediately hoped it was Repliku. I actually had a theory he was Data Riku, and Namine had re-purposed him to protect the memories in Jiminy's Journal, but I had not other basis to go off of other than "Riku's Data? Repliku." xD

I miss him. He's like Riku's shadow, and I can't wait to see what development he's gone through and how he survived :0

In the previous games when they were looking for Riku's data you mean? I find it fairly clear that the guy inside Riku's "heart" or what it was supposed to be (Kingdom Hearts is confusing) was the Riku Replica! But it definitely got crystal clear when I saw the trailer from which the scene in this deviation is. 

Is the replica Riku's Shadow? Yeah, I think so. He is a bit like Naminee is for Kairi and Roxas is for Sora. I think they hinted one thing in the "finding Riku's data" episode. The fact that Riku is finally going to accept his dark side,- a theory I've based upon how he talked to Mickey about him there, but that's for future players to find out

Otherwise, I'm with you, I miss the little rascal and I'm looking forward to seeing what they are planning to do with him and what they are planning on doing with the organization 13.

Riku accepting his dark side is super important, I think. He's got both light and dark. :0

I'm really excited to see where they're going with him, but I'm also very, very apprehensive about what will happen in the game going forward.

Yes, I think Square Enix is planning on giving both Riku and the Replica some more depth when it comes to their characters. I also think that after this, the Replica may be more than just "Riku's shadow", maybe more like his friend, and that may be how they portray him accepting the darkness, maybe so.

As for the game as a whole, I've got another theory. Since it's clear that Square Enix wanted to attract a younger audience, they may have planned on doing a more "child-friendly" version of the Final Fantasy games in the Kingdom Hearts games, and if that's the case, they may still have a similar storyboard. And so it's pretty easy to make predictions in what will happen and so on, but then again, there may be events that we haven't even thought of yet and that's what I'm looking forward to seeing. And to see if my theories are right.
