For just a moment they were safe. In a fit of joy Leon shouted and lifted Crest into the air, spinning her around and around as he laughed.
The future was far away, and they were safe in the past in the sunlight.
Leon put her down as she hugged him, laughing brightly... then their eyes met.
Crest was looking at him like... like she wanted... He leaned forward slowly, their noses barely brushed before a commotion in town caught their attention. They were off again like a shot. They had to stop the future from coming true!
But they had missed it, their one moment, so close, and too late.
