Description Name: Layla Green
Nickname(s):  N/A
Gender: Female
Birthday: January 19th
Age: 19

Backstory: (WARNING : This is a very long story and is likely to involve painful moments for this character, and things that may be a sensitive topic for some people. You are not required to read this in any way, this is just me being me and giving a backstory.)
Layla was born to two ranchers, David and Barbra Green. She began helping her parents around the ranch from a young age. She loved this life, but, unfortunately, it wouldn't last too long.
The greens went to visit Barbra's parents for Layla's fourteenth birthday. They had a family friend watching the ranch so they could visit their city dwelling relatives. However, the visit did not go all according to plan.

Barbra fell ill, contracting a mysterious sickness and being quickly hospitalized. Theyquickly learned it was contagious, and told them they were lucky not to have caught it. Her mother, as well as a few doctors and nurses that caught it, ended up quarantined. Careful research was made, but nothing could be done. They reasearched for about a year, however, Barbra and the others who had caught the illness died before they could find a cure.

Unfortunately, they pain didn't end with a death. The hospital bills forced David to sell the ranch, and they moved inwith Barbra's parents. Selling the ranch was heartbreaking. They loved the ranch, the Pokemon there were like family, and everything was sold, not even one pokemon was kept as a pet. Layla hated this, why did they have to sell the ranch? Why did they have to pay some dumb bills when they couldn't even help her mom and just let her suffer for a year before she finally was released from her misery by death?

Layla only grew more upset as time went on. Her Grandparents pressured her into getting her license and a job when she turned sixteen, but she, for whatever reason, was unable to stay employe for very long. Every time she got herself fired she'd be pressured until she got a new one. Eventually, David too her and they moved into a small apartment building.

The day Layla turned 18 was an unfortunate day. Layla was in David's car, in the passengers side seat. The two of tem were going to the drive in theater. The past months had gone well, and continued to get better. They were healing emotionally and were doing well.

As they drove along, discussing their thoughts on whether or not marshians liked marshmallows and other random topics, when suddenly, out of the corner of her eye she saw it, a semitruck coming towards them. It was on the wrong side of the road. "Dad look out!" She screamed. David looked over and swerved but it was too late. The truck pummeled the car.

Everything went black, but Layla eventually woke back up. She was in the hospital, that much she knew. Once she had completely woken up, she was instantly concerned. "Dad!?" She called, only to have a doctor come in. "Where's my dad? Is he alright?" She said, concerned. The doctor only shook his head in reply. Her expression quickly changed from fear to that of anguish.
Before she could do or say anything, none other than her grandparents came into the room.

"That idiot father of yours could have gotten you killed! Where is he? I need to have a serious talk with that boy." These were the first words her grandmother said to her. Layla gave an angry expression and silently tried to stand up and leave the room. It was only after falling on her face that she realized how much pain she was in. She had a broken leg, a broken arm, and many cuts and bruises, although, considering the car had been entirely totaled, she was lucky to survive the wreck.

"Ow..." That was all she said. Her grandparents lifted her back up and sat her on the bed, before her grandmother repeated herself. "Where is your father, Layla?" she said in an angry manner, as if she intended on hurting the man.

"Please, just go, Grandma, I don't want to talk right now..." Layla said. However, her grandmother wasn't taking that for an answer. "Where is he?" She said in a stern voice. "Edith, leave her a-" Layla's grandfather tried to step in but was quickly interrupted. "I am talking to her, Dan!" she yelled back. Layla had about enough of this.

"Grandma, if you really need to know where he is he's dead! Now can you please get out and stop fighting!" Layla finally yelled before crying into her available hand. Edith was shocked.

"I-" Layla quickly cut her grandmother off.
"I don't want an apology, I just want you to leave mealone for a bit..." she said.
Feeling that enough damage was done, Layla's grandparents left the room.
Now, left alone, Layla sat, tears running down her face.

A few days later, Layla was sent home with her grandparents so they could help her as her bones healed. This was more than slightly irritating, with her grandparents common arguments, andthe fact that she was basically forced to sit and listen to them, made her want to leave as quickly as possible, and resulted in the days feeling longer.

However, eventually she did finally heal completely physically, and quickly left her grandparents' place. She didn't know exactly where she was gonna go at first, just took to the road, going whereve the wind took her. And, oddly enough, it brought her back to the ranch, or what was left of it.

It had been battered and weathered, as nobody was actually living on the ranch, as made obvious by the for sale sign. It was then that she decided she wanted to buy back the ranch, she wanted to be a pokemon rancher like her parents once were, carry on their work.

Using the money she had recieved after her father died, she purchased the ranch, and fixed it up before going to get some pokemon for the ranch. Oddly enough, the family friend that had watched the place before her father came back and sold it, recognized her name, and ended up giving her a few eggs to start out. Thankful, she began her new life as a rancher. Hopefully she'll do well.
