First of all, great painting. I was unfamiliar with the model, so I looked her up, and I can totally see why you chose to paint her, very pretty. And you did justice to her I think. The likeness is totally there, but what really stands out is the lifelike quality you achieved with the skin and eyes. The skin textures around the eyes and nose are...juicy? I couldn't think of a better word, I don't know, delicious... Maybe I'm just hungry. Β What I am trying to say is they had that quality that really sells the painting beyond realism, into...art. Having gone a little overboard in the praise I do have some difficulties with the lips. I think the edges on the lips are probably a little too hard, particularly the upper edge of the top lip, but please don't be discouraged. Getting the firm edge around the pupil is much harder to get right, most people usually go too hard, but you nailed it, which is one of the reasons this is so impressive. Just something to watch out for in the future. Edge control is one of those areas that is crazy to get your head around but it makes a huge difference and I can clearly see that you know how to use them.
