Art trade with =shatteredscar , of her fursona Shatter. I'm sorry this is so way overdue, me and Paint lately... x) But I hope you like it! I don't feel like I did the trees in the distance too well (there should be more trees too) but oh well!Her part:

Hmm, it wasn't really supposed to be a sunset ;D It's the tree leaves and all, but it's not too clear honestly xD Should've added more tree-like shadows there.

This is the first time I've ever critiqued on something, so bare with me here...

There are A LOT of good things about this picture, by far! The scenery is quite stunning altogether, so I had to give vision a high set.
The only fault I can find in it is that the sky blends in a bit too much with the tree leaves.
Perhaps if you were to have dulled the sky a bit, it may give some better contrast.
As for originality, orange forests are rather common in art, although is does compliment the image of the brown on the cat better than other backgrounds could.
I've always loved the style of shading you use, and honestly, I don't find it used as often as it seems. The only few artists I know of that use this is you, and AgoraphobicBlue and a few other random artists I see here and there.
As for the impact, I had to give it five stars because the whole blowout of the picture is quite beautiful!
There has to be just ONE other things I could say and that would be the left hindleg.
It may just be me, but it looks a bit off. It just looks a little too curved.
(I shouldn't be complaining, my anatomy sucks anyway.)

Anyways, to the critiquing...
Pro's:
- The colours are very well done.
- The shadows are very realistic.
- Your cat... I dunno, it just looks realistic in a non-realistic way, ya know?
- The roots of the trees. Most people would go from leaves to branches to trunk... and stop there. But you did the roots!! Yay!!
- The cat's expression. Evilness. Malice. Love it.
Con's:
- Barely any.
- I don't really get the ribbon thing around the cats' head. I assume that serves a purpose though and am not really counting that as a con.

The structure is really good, and so is the background. I personally think you could use some more shading, just to make it POP. You know? The shading is needed for contrast. If you squint your eyes, can you really see a big difference?All you can really see if you squint is barely a cat with some trees. Although structure, and color really make this go "wow!", it could use shading. When you squint your eyes, all the colors blend together and don't make a standout piece. Overall, this drawing is very well done, nice job!!! Keep up the good work!!
