I'm curious though, did leave a speck of color in the background on purpose, or is that just a trick of the eye?

It is an infrared photo and the red flower came out this way and the leaves came out white/gray.

I see, very cool. I'd like to take infrared photos, but right now with my current skill, I feel it would just be gimmicky.

I started taking infrared photos one year after I began taking digital photos in 2005. You never know how these photos will come out

Hm. It'll still probably be a while until I can afford a new camera, got any advice for when I do?

Just returned from my trip to Italy! Sorry for the late reply... I would buy a used DSLR and a 18-55/18-70mm kit lens!

Well hope you had an amazing trip you sound excited, Β and good to have you back safely.

I'm looking up some information right now, and I see it says that conversion disables dust systems for the sensor, does that mean I should learn to clean the sensor myself, anything else I should know?

I never cared about cleaning my sensor... I am using Photoshop to remove some dust. I will have to ask the guy having modified my camera

I see, if he tells you any different please let me know, but I've been doing something similar using gimp, but I notice I can't just apply it across the board and forget about it, if I have a pattern covering where the spot would appear it sometimes causes slight distortion. When I do it I'm sending it to a company that does conversion, told me about it. They're company name is kolarivision, they offer a variety of options as well, if it interests you.

Of course, you were one of my inspirations when I was getting started here.

Loved your journals on ir and full spectrum.
Glad to see you around again.

No problem, and lol I didn't realize till after I sent it that you already know of irphotogirl. Β I probably found you through her page actually. Β I still remember that epic journal she made about ir and full spectrum photography that got me so excited about the field! and the editing tutorial you did, that taught me of the potential of editing via color channel.
