And I thought the WIP version was great! Amazing work mate, the face is spot on. And again, there's that use of light - it's totally unique to me.

Thanks Paul. I get overcome with self doubt after doing a portrait / caricature. . . I spend that much time looking at the face when im painting that i start questioning myself as to whether it is a good likeness or not. . . Thanks for the reassurance. I feel im improving with each paint - which is good.
Don't kid yourself, you've got the whole lighting/shadow deal pinned down. . . Im learning from you!

That self doubt is why you're so good. If you doubt your work, you'll spend longer looking for faults and try even harder to correct them. But I find your caricatures amazing because you always get the essence of who it is you're painting - that's not easy at all in a caricature.
Well it's a mutual thing mate - I think we all can learn can't we? I sure know that I have so much to learn, so much to improve on. And that's an exciting thing as a painter!
