Also known as the Azure Dragon of the East 東方青龍Seiryuu (or Qing Long in Chinese) is one of the Four Symbols of the Chinese Constellation, along with Genbu (Black Tortoise) Byakko (White Tiger) and Suzaku (Red Sparrow). Seiryuu represents the East, the spring season and the element of Wood. (When I painting it I was messing the elements up and thought he was Water, hence the strange depiction)
While I was painting Byakko, I already decided I wanted to make a series out of the Four Symbols. I've always liked the idea of making a series and I thought the Four Symbols were a good start, since it's a relatively short series and features most of my favourite animals/creatures. So here's Seiryuu/Qing Long.
This was hard. Harder than it should have been since I regularly draw dragons. I really wanted him to look like an Asian dragon (long) as he should be. But I kinda failed. His head is more like I typically like to draw dragons. Also, apologies for having used similar colours (of blue) as used in Byakko. I really tried to go for a different colour scheme, but it just didn't work for me. Eheh, that's it for now regarding the critique
I still like it. And as you see, I've abused the dodge tool again (even stronger this time 
) and I like how the scales and manes came out

Honestly, despite you having it done "wrong" with the whole "Azure Dragon is supposed to be Wood" I'm more in favor of the Azure Dragon being Water. thus, this pic really brings out that very meaning, being invisible and such. Really stunning. Not to say, Water is my favorite element.

I'm always stunned with how artists create a "glowing" effect. However, you not only did that phenomenally you added another dimension, water. The lighting to make it realistic is incredible. I have no idea how you created this. I've always been fascinated with this type of artwork but too discouraged to actually try and practice it. It just looks far too difficult.
Excellent execution, a well earned DD. (Honestly all of your works are DD worthy.

As for trying this, you should! It's not as difficult as it may appear. Most good results just come from experimenting and playing around with tools, figuring out what looks and to make things look better. I find that as long as you don't start painting with a specific result in mind, you end up with better results. This was just one such experiment
