WORST. DAY. EVER.

If there was true justice in the world, she'd still be at home in her comfy pajamas, watching fan-subbed episodes of Hyper Guardian Princess Evolution DD while burying her face in her almost limitless food reserves. But noOOOoo. She had a morning shift cashiering at Dealmart, and those were harder to get out of than a straitjacket. She made some frantic calls to fellow employees, but nobody wanted to sub for her.

Kimiko briefly considered confessing to her supervisor that she had a baffling condition that required her to eat nonstop and that she didn't know if it was contagious, but decided against it. That would only tempt management with visions of a plague-boosted grocery business. If she wanted to keep her job, she'd button up her red vest and report for duty.

It was probably the wrong decision. No paycheck could possibly be worth the combined torture of scanning customer's food items as her hunger intensified. Then she'd bag them and the stranger would take the precious cargo away to their car, never to be seen again. Then the next person in line would taunt her by starting the process all over again.

There was even one cute guy with a cart brimming with teetering towers of Nutty Buddies and several gallons of chocolate milk, as well as a bottle of lube. Kimiko didn't know what sort of kinky plan he had, but she desperately wanted to be a part of it. She almost said something, but didn't. There was probably a perfectly innocent reason for that purchase, and she didn't want to make things awkward.

Normally she'd be all about chatting with customers, awkwardness be damned, but her cramping stomach put her in a sour and silent mood. Just a few more hours to lunch. Maybe the shipping department would have some free scratch-and-dent goodies for her. All she had to do was survive.

Kimiko had her doubts.
