After Mituna's accident, Porrim decides it's a good idea to cut his hair short for his safety, whether he wants it or not (he does NOT). Latula lets it happen but regrets it instantly. He refuses to take his helmet off for an entire month. Kurloz kills Porrim for this in at least one timeline.

Understandable that after going through life with his eyes almost never visible, the incident that leaves them as a visible reminder of everything wrong with him would not be the moment he'd want to start, on top of the uncomfortable and disorienting sensory changes, on top of his vanity and the fact that he considers his hair a defining part of him. Bad, bad move, Porrim. I imagine a number of questionable choices get made on his behalf around this time, when everyone's still trying to figure out what comes next.
