Seriously, with the duck on his back and them fighting together, how can one not make the Banjo & Kazooie comparisons?
The Dog and Duck from Duck Hunt are owned by Nintendo.
The concept of Banjo & Kazooie is owned by Rareware.

The funny thing is in the trailer featuring these guys, of all of the characters, Diddy Kong was the one that got shot with the Light Gun.
It would also have been funny if these guys dressed like this and were found in the Carrington Institute target practice.

You know what's funny? There's a colour palette that makes the dog brown and the duck red.

I hope they do the same thing they did with Kid Icarus and make a sequel for Duck Hunt in the style of Banjo-Kazooie, I would play that game forever (seeing how Rare at this point is dead)

Donkey Kong had King K. Rool
Banjo-Kazooie had Gruntilda
Conker had the Panther King
Diddy had WizPig
I'm sure something interesting could be made up cause after all if it's a RareWare inspired game anything can happen.

Well, the major matter is that I doubt it could be the hunter from the original series, especially as the duo in SSB4 seems to rely a lot on gun-toting men to get their dirty work done on the battlefield.
I mean, I suppose it could be a giant hulking bear that is terrorizing everyone else in the woods that the ducks live in, or perhaps a gang of geese that are bullying the ducks out of the marshes from the original game.

Yeah. I think that he's the Ice Climbers/ROB of this generation of Smash, seeing how Duck Hunt's attacks are mostly based on various NES Zapper games from the NES era.
