I wasn't sure I'd finish this in time - had to do some pretty rapid colouring and ended up with just over an hour to spare!

One of the hardest things about this was choosing a Disney father - there are so many good ones to choose from! In the end I went for King Triton. The Little Mermaid was always one of my favourite Disney films as a kid, and though I used to think King Triton was something of a meanie (when he smashes all her things! ), now I have more sympathy for him. Having seven daughters to care for (as well as a kingdom), with their mother gone, has got to be pretty tough! I tried to draw a scene showing up some of the more challenging parts of having a bunch of daughters around: so Alana and Attina are having a, probably noisy, gossip; Aquata and Arista are bickering in the front; Andrina and Adella are wheedling him for something (new pearls? Not sure what mermaids would want...); and of course Ariel is singing away in the back. Lovely as her voice is, when you've got six other voices in your ears and you just want some peace and quiet, there must be times when it would be annoying (I sympathise with my dad on this one - I'm often singing very loudly when I'm at home, and not as nicely as Ariel).

Inked with fine liner, (eyes and mouths done with a maru dip pen) coloured in pencil.
