 Personality:

+ optimistic - With bright eyes, Nicolai naturally see’s the best in everything, everyone, and every situation.

Focused- When given a task, Nicolai will put his full attention to it and will consciously refuse to stray from it, be it during a mission or simply handing someone some toilet paper.

Energetic- Nicolai is always filled with energy even after a hard day of work. He becomes excited easily and is quite happy to make new friends.

Imaginative- Growing up with his mother’s habit of making up wild stories, Nicolai had to grow up with a wild sense of truth. This translated into an imaginative mind both as a child and as he grew older. This helps with strategizing possible outcomes and quick, creative, improvisions.

Flirtatious- Nicolai isn’t shy when it comes to interacting with others, and if he sees someone cute, he won't hesitate to try to make them blush.

Egotistical- He,,, loves himself. And he’s proud of it and he’s not afraid to boast about how absolutely suave he is.

Stubborn- Nicolai tends to become hard set on his decisions and will refute if anyone attempts to sway him. He also tends to refuse help from others, being independent in a way that’s unnecessary.

Dense- Nicolai is quite oblivious to many things and will most likely not catch on to any signals or hints given his way. Some may call this stupidity, and some call it being dense to put it in nicer terms.

Immature- Along with being imaginative, Nicolai also tends to be a bit childish. This may come off as annoying in some ways.

 History:

TLDR: Nicolai grew up with his mother. She created a false image of herself and his father to keep him happy and avoid answering confusing questions related to ghosts. They moved from a beloved house to avoid Nicolai being hurt by his "imaginary friends" that was, in reality, a haunting. Nicolai becomes frustrated with seeing ghosts when no one else can but his mother avoids answering ghost related questions in fear of losing his trust. One day some dude comes and his mom is like we gotta move to Russia and he learns the truth about her which was: she used to work for agencies to combat the supernatural and she had an affair with her colleague and poof he was born. They move to Moscow and he learns how to fight the end.

Nicolai was born and raised in a household that held only him and his mother. His mother was beautiful in every way: attractive, kind, talented, and Nicolai idolized her for all that she was. Growing up, he fell into the cycle of waking up before her, making his own lunch, and attending school without her as she slept. She needed it, he concluded, for her work was primarily based on the night life. He was quite active in school; speaking and answering all the questions in class whether they were wrong or right, having a large friend circle, joining as many sports as he could, flirting with all the cute girls, and not making the... best grades.

His mother was a singer. A very talented one at that. She always had a song on her lips, be it in the clubs and bars she worked at, or be it in the house, at the stove, the dinner table, or singing young Nicolai to sleep. Because of her, Nicolai fell in love with music and fashion, dressing up in her high heels and whatever semi-fit him, and putting on shows for her. He was happy and so was she.

As Nicolai grew older, he started to become more curious. Questions after questions were asked about her life, his life, who his father was etc. Her responses ranged from short answers to long, fantasized stories. She was purely Russian descent, she had easily told him, but his father, he had no clue. According to her stories, she used to travel the world, singing for millions of people, and his father was a rock star astronaut she met in the U.S National Embassy during one of their gigs, and he couldn't be with them now because he booked it to Mars to become a Pez dispenser sales rep. Of course, he believed every word.

He easily questioned everything out loud to his mother, expecting some sort of answer.  One thing he never questioned was why they had to move from their old house. It was small, comfortable, and had a lot of history, but it was also where he had made memories. They had moved before Nicolai turned five, but he knew his mother loved the house and him as well. Saying goodbye to his imaginary friends was the hardest part of the move. At age ten, Nicolai questioned why he saw what he saw. Imaginary friends turned to concern in his eyes and he started to become scared of the fragmentations that appeared to be not-so-human. Seeing auras around his peers could no longer be called a superpower that ran in the family. He was growing older and when his friends grew out of it and he couldn’t, he became restless. Nicolai’s mother would always dodge the topic or give old answers that only a kid would believe. As he grew older, he wanted to question the truth as well as her job and how well she was paid, but some questions are too hard to ask.

A week after his 14th birthday, someone knocks at the door. It’s an old “colleague” of his mother’s, according to the foreign man. His mother wasn’t home yet and it was quite late in the night. He asked if he was a rock star too, the man laughed and rubbed the boy’s head with a yearning look in his eye and they talked about everything and nothing, becoming friends. His mother came home and became very serious all of a sudden when she saw the man. It’s a side of her Nicolai had never seen.

The man spoke to her in Russian, and Nicolai suddenly regrets never learning his heritage language. Their conversation was very tense, he concluded from the tone of their voices and the foreign expressions his mother made and he felt as though he couldn’t breathe with this new atmosphere. After ward, the man leaves, but not without hugging Nicolai and his mother. He’s confused.

The room was quiet, and then his mother broke the silence.

“We’re going to Russia, Nico.”

He was very confused. “Why?”

“I can not tell you”

“Tell me.”

“I cannot, Nico-”

“Will you tell me more lies?” he cut her off.

This turned her blood cold. She hesitated before responding quietly.

“I’m sorry.” she pauses, “I’m afraid you won’t understand the truth.”

He yearns for the truth.

She saw this, so she told a new story; one of truth.

She sat him down and told him of what she used to do. She was an agent in a long dead organization created to combat supernatural in the eastern hemisphere. It had faded once the hauntings had also died down.

“You used to come to me saying you saw people, friends, in the house at night. This is why we had to move. How could I tell my son that his imaginary friend could hurt him? I was more afraid of the ghosts than you were.”

The man had asked her to help train people in fighting the supernatural back in Russia; local agencies couldn't balance their declining number of agents vs. the haunting problems in the East, leaving the areas vulnerable. After the encounter, Nicolai and his mother moved to Moscow, Russia, where his mother took on the job as a trainer. (The man turned out to be his father, who had an affair with his mother during their time together as colleagues --A friendship with benefits that never quite blossomed into love, but at that point, Nicolai didn’t fully understand what “benefits” meant.) He and Nicolai’s relationship grew closer during his time in Russia, becoming close friends and combat partners after a lifetime apart. His mother opposed Nicolai’s desire to learn how to fight at first but realized his idolization of her never died. Rather, it returned in full force

“My mom’s a singer and a fighter? That’s fucking badass,” he would say before getting a flick on the forehead for his foul language.

Nicolai spent years dedicated to his physical training. During this time he closely bonded with his father, sharing jokes and going out to eat after practice every night. Nicolai took this time to explore Moscow and became friendly with just about every passerby, greeting regulars in the stores and buying bread from the same old lady every day until she was practically his grandmother. During this time, when he wasn’t on his grueling fitness regime, he would take classes on an online English school course.

Nicolai was growing quickly; his dedication to learning combat was evident and his growth in strength, strategy, and agility was risen -gradually but noticeably- by his training. Long nights of his nose in strategy books, raising his work out goals higher more and more often, and requesting more and more training time with his father. Taking note of this, and also taking note of Nicolai’s incessant whining, his father admitted Nicolai as the youngest recruit of his agency at the age of 17. For seven years, Nico trained physically and mentally in order to become a fighter of the supernatural, just as his mother and father were. His mysticism levels started to rise, built up from the more prevalent exposure to the paranormal. He was proficient, young, full of life (not to brag to the ghosts), and dedicated to be the best that he could in his job.

so when an opportunity arose to branch out from the small organization in Moscow, he set his soul on bigger and better things. One day the small training base on the edge of Moscow's city limits was greeted by someone claiming to be a recruitment officer for an American based organization named Prism. They requested manpower and Nicolai was strongly recommended by all higher ups. He hesitated at first, afraid of losing everything he held onto in his life, yet he yearned for improvement and adventure and this felt like a calling for him.
