Description
Based on a shot from the Expendables movie, this was gonna be a quick practice (mostly looking at the pose) but I ended up with this sci-fyish thing - still suck at faces though
C&C Would be appreciated, any tips on drawing the face would be really helpful

I definitely think it needs more contrast, the whole thing is a bit too dark. Even if you want it to be dark, there has to be some sort of contrast as well. The figure it self seems good, but yeah if there was, for example, some stronger lighting on his face (like a point of interest) would help a lot I think.

Thanks for the feedback! I think I chose a reference I was fairly comfortable painting - low contrast I can do. That said, I didn't bring out the highlights as much as in the original shot, and you're right about the face. I'll try something a bit lighter for my next piece.

Reference shot is from a fight scene, supposed to be more "angry" than "creepy"! Need more practice
