Most of the time they do it for attention? Like, idk how you react public to that kinda bullshit, but like, 8/10 times it's done for a reaction (and fuck, any reaction to that is pretty normal) but if they get no reaction, it loses its fun and stuff, so they stop? Idk, worth a try :L
It's cool that you've met friends who actually care, make sure you listen to those guys, k? xD Chances are, they're the people that see you for who you really are, and genuinely want to help you and stuff.
As for the assholes being mean to you...
They're probably pretty self-conscious themselves ^.^'
Psychology has found, again and again, that the stronger a person hates something about someone else, or the harsher they judge people for it... the more likely it is they're avoiding that trait in themselves. So if they're banging on about how you look, it's probably because they're very self-conscious or insecure about how they look.
And, failing that, just think: what kind of messed-up person do you have to be to take so much pleasure in insulting and hurting others? Like... yeah lol. Don't let anything they say distort your view of shit like that. They're not better than you, what gives them the right to point the finger at shit that doesn't really matter anyway? (honestly, my first crush had a gap between is teeth; there are models with gaps between their teeth. Who cares? Tough as it is with them fucking picking on it all the time, just remember that you want to hang out with decent people, and decent people care about more important things xD) Not saying that you have the right to point the finger either lol, but just don't listen to people who haven't earned your trust and respect and have demonstrated enough that they genuinely care about you before you bother to listen to what bullshit they have to say.
As for stress; fuck. That shit's awful ;__;
