Description Another attempt at light painting.
This is the second shot of my Dean.

Lit with a flashlight for the white and a glowstick for the red.

Again taken with a 30 sec exposure, the max time my nikon D3100 has.

Comments welcome.

Such "light art" is always nice in combination with guitars, but you shouldn't have done it in the corner of this room. The corner doesn't look good.

30 sec is not the max. if you buy the inexpensive IR remote, you can open the shutter for as long as the battery lasts, just set it to bulb. The concept for the picture seems very cool, it would be even better if you could redraw someone playing with it. I mean, having someone held the guitar and act like playing it, while you illuminate him/her at random and the guitar consistently so that it comes clear in the shot -or as clearer as can be.

Makes sense?

That's a cool idea.

I'm not sure if the Nikon D3100 has an IR remote option. I know that I can get the wired one though.

You're right, it doesn't!

Just checked the brochure. Am kinda amazed at the lack of these features on that camera. The D3000 has the wireless remote option but not the wired. I thought yours was an "updated" D3k, but it seems more like a camera aimed at a different market (less photo-centric, more versatile with the addition of video).

Yeah, it's okay. The only thing that seems to be missing for me would be the IR remote. I'll just get a wired remote with a button lock so I can lock he shutter open

As I said before, the best camera there is, is the one in your hands right now!

Yup, I'm a lefty. It's really hard finding lefty guitars to play.

Yeah. I really like this guitar. As soon as I saw it used I snatched it up right away. It could be forever before I come across a lefty dean again.
