I think this is my BEST work on DeviantArt yet! ^_^Took me 6 hours to do the realistic shading, and I hated realistic shading! But it turns out so well so I'm so happy! ^_^
This is Makoto Kino, Sailor Jupiter from the Sailor Moon mangas. She's my favorite, that's why I drew and colored her! ^_^

Cool drawing.. but I can't figure out if you intended it to be Manga style or Anime style (Naoko Takeuchi's style greatly differs from the Anime's but you already know that
But your unique style is the best !!!

This is very pretty. Sailor Jupiter is one of my favorite characters off of Sailor Moon. I can imagine her saying, "Jupiter Star Power! Make Up!"

Yay another comment to get loss in the masses. (You are lucky, I rarely get more than five comments on a picture.)
I agree that this is by far the best picture you have uploaded. Your excellent care and eye for detail really shows with each and every part of this picture. My favorite part is the legs, and the way you were careful to add sharp contrasting shadows near the shirt, and sexy smooth shadows on the rest, including the carefully defined knees. I also especially enjoy the shading on the booties, they look very realistic to me. Good job on the jewel too.
As far as critiques... I feel that although you put a lot of effort into shading the hands correctly, it wasn't actually necessary because of the angle she's holding them. Also, the prime meridian line on her abdomen (the vertical one) is much too dark. Again, you paid unnecessarily close attention to what MIGHT have been, but SHOULDN'T have.
Great job trying out realistic shading. Especially the hair. Hair is stupid anyway. I personally am not that fond of the BG choice. Because the way the sketch was altered--all rainbow like-- I imagined this final piece to be more of a swirly colors, bright lights transformation sequence kind of picture. Of course it works either way, just not what I imagined. Don't be afraid to put more of a shadow underneath too... the part under the feet should be especially dark, yes, but there should still be a cast shadow.
Overall, good job. You are progressing rapidly towards a plateau of excellence.

No prob. I figure that after a bunch of people praise you then someone should be actually helpful. (Not to say that adamant praise is bad, on the contrary, I wish I got it more often...) Anyway, keep it up!

yeah that's true, most people just praise and don't give helpful advice, neither do i XD.
but first people have to be good enough to give advice to others. because i mean if you suck at drawing and just draw stick figures and tell other people "the proportion is wrong, the anatomy is wrong blah blah blah" it'd be kinda weird XD.
Well if you want adamant praise, i can give it to you XD. i'll just praise and exaggerate myself XD.
