no, I don't have any for sale, my figures are individually commissioned. If you want one you ask me in a note or email so you can commission a figure from me.

Not bad for a custom figure which is based on one of my most hated sonic character ever But the figure itself looks pretty neat

Mind if I throw in a suggestion? Maybe you could use twine or string or something to make a pseudo-wrist? Like, cut off the glove cuff, loosely wrap the stringy tool of choice between the hand and the arm with with a sort bit sticking out, sculpt as usual while leaving the loose bit sticking out, then finally unravel it carefully to retain wrist articulation. Does that make sense?

Wakeangel2001 In reply to Spyro9 [2014-05-25 04:28:21 +0000 UTC]
yes, but that wasn't the problem with this particular figure. Blaze has much larger wrist pegs on her arms so the holes in her hands were too big for Shadow's arms, so in order to make them stay on I had to glue them in place.

Hmm. I guess I didn't notice that. In fact, now that I look at the pictures I see that the hands ARE in different positions. D3RP
But would this hypothetically work for characters like Pre-Genisis Wave Sally or other gloveless characters?

You probably want to do more coats of the blue on the black. It looks really messy as it is right now.
I would do at least two more coats.

its SUPPOSED to look messy! Don't you people actually read the text on these things!?

Is it really?
Well I'm sorry, I did read most of the text in the image, but thats no reason to freak out. I was just trying to give you some tips because as it is I think the older one you made looks 100x better than this one just because of the paint job. I'm sorry if you don't agree with me, thats just my opinion.

oh, and by the way, my first Mephiles used almost no paint, besides the stripe on his forehead and the sides of his body and his eyes and muzzle that's all the native color of the material I used

Ok, well I'm sorry. I don't take the time to read all of the comments on other peoples work before commenting. I'm also sorry that I don't care for games like sonic and that I don't possess the knowledge necessary to understand your art. I just hope that next time you'll be able to respond a little less angrily, you won't get very many commissioners that way.

to be honest I was kind of offended that you assumed I made such a bad paint job by accident. I've been doing this for over 4 years and take more than a little pride in the hundreds of figures I've made for other people in that time. I take this hobby quite seriously and I was simply gobsmacked that someone would think I was so incompetent that I would post a picture of crappy paint job without realizing it.

Well I'm sorry I didn't know you've been doing this for 4 years. I'm not a mind reader so you can't expect me to know that, especially since I couldn't care less about the sonic games. I was just looking at it from my point of view as a painter/custom maker/ sculptor.
Anyway, might I suggest still doing another coat of light blue and then dry brushing other shades of blue and black on? I think it may still look a little better that the way it is now.
Sorry if you find that offending too, you should maybe learn how to accept a little bit of criticism if you do.

im sorry but if you do not care for this franchise, then why are commenting on a SONIC CUSTOM? i mean pretty much all of his customs are sonic ones , and from the mind blowing work of his i saw, i never picked out a bad egg. Anyway, i know wake wouldnt just carelessly make one of these action figures, so i'd appreciate it if you actually read the text before you nitpick.

My original comment was not based on the sonic franchise, it was based on the technique of which he used to paint the blue on the figure. I said that I don't know anything about sonic, so it shouldn't be expected that I know it was purposeful. I did indeed read the text but not all of it, there was kind of a lot. Maybe cut it down to the important stuff, because generally when people see a wall of text they don't feel like reading it. This little "discussion" was a good note for me, don't give anymore tips to people.

Well the tips I was giving were from my perspective as a sculptor/painter/graphic artist, so I guess I thought I knew exactly what I was talking about.

I agree with you, again, as a customizer/sculptor/painter, things could be more refined and exact. A little more time on making the paint look more factory produced would make the custom really stand out. Same thing with sanding the sculpted bits so they don't look like sculpted bits that were stuck on an existing figure.

you were the third person to point out the "poor" paint job, that's why I snapped. Also, Mephiles isn't SUPPOSED to look smooth and even colored, just look at him: th00.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f… His "skin" is supposed to look rough an crumbly, like he's made out of recently cooled lava.
