I'm not quite into this one. I don't know if it's the pose. I think it's the dress : it kinda kills her curves, her shape. I'm not such a fan of the black on black, either

yeah... a few people have mentioned that... that choice was mostly from a lack of choice... and only having one light... definitely a setup for two lights.

Very nice, though for a fashion portrait (emphasis on fashion objects, i.e. clothing), her dress might be disappearing into the black background for the right, shadow side of the model.
IMHO, a maroon backdrop may help in this shot.
Maybe it's time to invest in more backdrops?

You don't have to show all the dress.. it's fashion not catalog... I am not sure if everyone sees the difference... one gives the mood of how you could look wearing the outfit the other shows you detail of what it really is... like looking at a room or a crime scene... lol
