actually her lines aren't that great... they look great because they fade off into black and slim her down... there is a point to my madness sometimes

I never said you implied she was fat or anything, just that I found the lines, as shot, to be quite nice, and the blending is interesting in a sense, but a bit, well, overwhelming also

i guess i just find the background so uninteresting that I wanted to take it out as much as possible and make it solid black....

Then, try to kill it completly, not making it black but making it drown in absence of light. But I don't think you should, always. A good background (even completely blurred) can strengthen your picture so much
