Description
So I thought I should try fully colouring something for once, just for practice. This turned out a bit simplistic - I think I need to work on putting more detail in my lines - but other than that I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out :)Please excuse all the historical inaccuracies in their outfits!
A Will/Tessa picture will be coming soon, because I love both ships and cannot draw one without the other <3

Oh, gosh. I love the soft, warm colors used, and that watercolor effect! So heartwarming aughh it's precious. ; A ; No worries on the historical inaccuracies, this is pretty much what I picture when they aren't planning on leaving the institute. Comfy over quality, hmm.

Ah, really? 'Heartwarming' and 'precious' are two words that pretty much epitomize Jem/Tessa for me so I'm so glad that came across in my drawing!

I've never tried using Paint Tool SAI for colouring, maybe cause my version doesn't work that good. It crashes and doesn't get any signal from the tablet, so that I should use the mouse for everything. Pretty uncomfortable. I suppose I should try to get a better version.
(I'm more of a Will/Tessa shipper myself, but Jem... Hating or even just disliking him is impossible!!

I find SAI really handy as my computer is old and dying and SAI is very small and doesn't stress my computer out!
It also has some really nifty blending and texture effects for painting and you can rotate your canvas to any angle which is so helpful for fixing mistakes. If you can make it work with your tablet I recommend it, but I'm sure there are lots of other awesome digital painting programs out there. I just use the one that works best on my computer :)

This is lovely. Your colouring skills are most impressive! I also try to work in SAI sometimes but it looks nowhere near as good as this. I love how the whole thing has a bit of a Jane Austen feel. Their anatomy and poses are really well done and your lines are perfect in my opinion, smooth and crisp at the same time!

Ok, you know I love your style! But the coloring is also amazing and Iยดm fascinated by the background! The lilac clouds look like watercolor! How did you do that?

I did the entire thing in Paint Tool SAI - I used the paintbrush tool with the scatter brush tip, then set a wet edge on the layer and overlaid a watercolour texture from [link] which is full of amazing, free textures. I think the main effect is just the texture I put on top. Grunge textures are great too :)
