Description It was the middle of the afternoon as a small television, within a small apartment, was switching channels rapidly. The speed at which the channels were being flown through was in direct contrast to the boredom of the woman holding the remote.

“C’mon…is there anything good on?” moaned Rosita, her light blue hair coated with sweat from the current heatwave occurring outside. She had worn a thin tank top and jogging bottoms, trying to keep herself cool as she eyed the clock absentmindedly.

“It’s only 3?” muttered Rosita annoyingly. She leant back into the sofa, trying to prevent herself from sticking to it. It would be a few hours before her roommate, Rosalie would be returning from college. Rosita shook her head, feeling rather worried for her friend.

“The Samhain exams must be very important to her” thought Rosita, recalling the late nights Rosalie had been pulling recently. Rosita couldn’t help but feel a little guilty as the pair had been barely making ends meet. In fact, they barely managed to scrape rent that month.

“The economy’s going into a nosedive it seems,” said Rosita, annoyed at the current state of the world. “Even with working at the groceries…even with the ‘pity’ discounts, they insist on giving me” continued Rosita, feeling further agitated at her and Rosalie’s predicament. “Perhaps I should’ve stayed in college…would have opened up my prospects some more” finished Rosita as she turned off the television, her attention too scattered to concentrate.

“I can tell that she's struggling but…what do I do?” wondered Rosita, finding herself at a loss. As her mind wandered, she couldn’t help but smile. It had been only recently since she and Rosalie had taken their relationship to the next level. “She’s certainly a keeper,” thought Rosita, her smile widening as she allowed the feeling to wash over her. Something about the pair being together just felt so…good.

As Rosita’s mind wandered, she couldn’t help but feel frisky. “Damn I wish she was back by now” continued Rosita, suppressing the lewd thoughts. They had already done it a few times previously, usually, so Rosalie could have some relief in the build-up to her exams. However, Rosita would be lying if she hadn’t enjoyed it as well.

As Rosita closed her eyes, allowing the memories to come to the forefront of her mind, she couldn’t help but mumble in pleasure. It was helping tide the woman over as she imagined just what fun they’d get up to that evening.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. For Rosita, it was a sudden knock on the door. She stumbled, falling to the floor briefly before standing up. She looked around, hearing the door knock once more as she looked at it in confusion.

“Who could that be? I don’t recall either of us ordering anything?” thought Rosita, her curiosity coming over her as another knock on the door occurred. Rosita, despite her common sense, couldn’t help but walk towards the door. She quickly approached it, unsure of what exactly she was expecting to find.

When Rosita opened the door, she was surprised to find a small package on their door mat. Looking around curiously, noticing that no one else appeared to be claiming it, Rosita picked up the small package.

The only thing she was able to find was a small tag which curiously…had her name on it.

“Huh…neat,” thought Rosita, having already mentally decided on ‘finders keepers.’ After all, the package had her name on it. Perhaps Rosalie had brought her something to surprise her during their next ‘session’?

Nevertheless, Rosita closed the door behind her, taking back in her newest acquisition.

Rosita took the package to the small kitchen area inside the small apartment. She sat down on one of the chairs at the kitchen table as curiosity began to fill her soul.

“Just what could it be?” wondered Rosita, optimism bubbling within as she didn’t know what to expect. It could be anything within the small package. As Rosita continued to stare at it, the temptation to open it proved too great.

Surely, Rosalie wouldn’t be particularly annoyed if Rosita accidentally ruined the surprise. Besides, she could always make it up to her.

Throwing caution into the wind, Rosita ripped open the paper of the package. She was rather careless as she did so, the paper being torn to shreds. She barely paid any attention to the brand logo, not recognising it.

Perhaps it was from somewhere out of town?

Eventually, Rosita managed to rip away all the paper as she eyed the contents of the package curiously. Her eyes widened in surprise, then confusion as she glanced at the object inside.

It was an ordinary bar of soap. It was coloured pink, likely as some form of aesthetic as the most notable feature was within the centre of the soap. It appeared to be the shadow of an ordinary housecat.

“What a strange item,” thought Rosita, confusion broadening as she continued to eye the soap. “I mean…I know Rosalie has strange interests but this…this is a strange one” continued Rosita, thinking about it for a moment longer before shaking her head.

As she stared at the soap, however, Rosita couldn’t help but be reminded of the sweat that was sticking to her skin. “I suppose I could do with a shower,” thought Rosita, standing up from the kitchen chair. Rosita decided a shower was in order as she took one last curious look at the soap on the table.

At that, Rosita quickly headed over to the shared bathroom. She looked around, cursing inwardly as she noticed they were all out of soap. “Typical,” thought Rosita, irritated until she remembered the new soap on the kitchen table.

Surely Rosalie wouldn’t mind if she used it first.

“Nah, I’m sure she’ll be ok about it,” said Rosita, walking out of the bathroom. She approached the kitchen table once more, grabbing the soap as she did so. She then quickly headed back towards the bathroom, determined to clean herself up before Rosalie returned.

Within the Bathroom:
Rosita stood in the bathroom for a moment, her bare feet against the tiles as she couldn’t help but feel uneasy. She noticed the wrapper around the soap as she peeled it off. She rubbed it against her hand absentmindedly for a moment before putting it down in the soap holder.

“Might as well get myself ready?” thought Rosita, feeling that she’d committed too much now. She began to pull her tank top off over her head, her jogging bottoms still clinging to her waist.

As Rosita continued to strip, she felt a tingling sensation come over her. It focused on her hand, where she had rubbed it with the soap as, unknown to Rosita, small blue hairs began to grow from it.

Soon, Rosita would learn why the bar of soap had the picture of a cat on it.

Rosita, still distracted, entered the shower as she turned the water on. She let her hair down as she began to feel the coarse warm water washing over her. She already felt better as she closed her eyes, taking in the warmth as she grabbed the soap nearby.

“This…this feels so relaxing,” thought Rosita, the euphoria calming the girl as she began to lather the soap over herself. The warm water washed away the soap as she cleaned herself, causing her to feel warm, tingly all over.

As Rosita continued to lather herself with the soap, she could feel a warm sensation coming over her. It felt comforting, euphoric even as Rosita had unknowingly encouraged her pending transformation.

It began at the base of her spine. The tingling began to increase in intensity as her coccyx felt like it was…stretching out. Rosita continued obviously, barely noticing her new tail beginning to force itself out from her rear.

It started as a small nub, barely long enough to be noticeable as Rosita felt the water washing over her. It then began to extend, stretching longer and longer as Rosita breathed out in satisfaction, unknowingly stretching her new limb. It wiggled around, the water of the shower feeling rather uncomfortable against it.

Blue fur began to grow from the limb, spreading slowly as the water began to soak into it. It continued to wiggle curiously as if it was a newborn experiencing the world for the first time. The fur began to approach her ass, soon spreading to her body and beyond.

“Why do I feel rather itchy?” thought Rosita, opening her eyes. She looked around, her tail almost comically keeping itself out of her vision. However, she managed to get a sight of the spreading fur, noticing it beginning to trail down her legs.

“Wha…what the hell?!” shrieked Rosita, noticing the newfound fur as she tugged on it. It remained firmly stuck to her as the water of the shower continued to soak into it. She could feel the fur continuing to grow, a nice shade of blue like her hair although that was the last thing on Rosita’s mind.

“What’s…what’s happening to me?” wondered Rosita, trying her best to suppress her panic. However, this was short-lived as she could feel a tingling spreading to her feet.

Rosita barely had time to react as she found herself immediately struggling to stand. She looked down, managing to support herself on the soap stand as more of the lather of the soap touched her hand, causing tingling to move towards them as well.

However, Rosita paid her hands no mind as she eyed her feet. She could only watch pitifully as her nails broke off, sharp feline claws breaking through which quickly withdrew into her toes. Speaking of which, her toes began to cramp up, forcing themselves together as pads began to form on her feet. The blue fur that had been spreading across her lower body soon enveloped her forming paws as the sensation felt rather ticklish. As bone crunched, solidifying into shape, Rosita realised she now had a pair of feline paws for feet.

Her newly formed paws began to patter against the water, feeling slippery as Rosita was barely able to keep herself standing. However, the tingling in her hands was now becoming impossible to ignore as she eyed her spare hand.

“Wait…it’s happening everywhere?!” thought Rosita, panic coming over her as she couldn’t help but watch in horror. It was like witnessing a trainwreck as she witnessed how inhuman her body was becoming.

Rosita watched as her fingers began to shrink, becoming stumpy. They crunched together, losing flexibility as her thumbs began to withdraw. They formed the first digits on her upcoming forepaws as Rosita noticed her nails popping off. Small feline claws emerged from below, appearing rather sharp as they withdrew into her developing paws.

It was at that point Rosita realised the changes had been mirrored in her other hand. It took only a moment longer for her to lose her grip as she fell.

“No, no no no!” shouted Rosita, barely having time to react before hitting the ground. She looked up, noticing the shower door as a sudden thought came to her.

“Perhaps…perhaps if I get out?” thought Rosita, beginning to crawl across the floor. However, as if responding to her thoughts, the doors seemed to be getting larger. As Rosita was confused by this, she failed to realise she had shrunk to a fraction of her former size, far more appropriate for the housecat she was becoming. Her tail continued to waft around, the water now feeling uncomfortable against her changing body.

However, before Rosita could react further, she felt a sensation in her ears. She heard a buzzing come over them, her hearing seeming to be becoming sharper. She felt uneasy as the sensory overload caused Rosita to feel extremely disoriented. Her ear began to tickle, the same blue fur forming as they moved to the top of her head. They began to change shape, becoming more flexible as they changed into a triangular shape. They continued to pick up a much greater heightened sound as Rosita found herself overwhelmed with all the sensations coming over there.

In her confusion, Rosita failed to notice the final changes spreading over her face. She winced as her face began to push out into a muzzle. Her nose shrunk, shifting into her face as it became wet, more sensitive as Rosita could feel her sense of smell broadening.

“Wait…could it be?” thought Rosita, a sudden realisation coming over her. She was turning into a cat…the very animal on the bar of soap. However, she couldn’t think about it much longer as she felt a tingling in her mouth, becoming aware that her teeth and tongue were next.

Her teeth sharpened as they shifted, changing to match her future diet. Her tongue shifted, becoming rougher as she felt it shifting in her mouth. Unknown to Rosita for the moment, her tongue would be particularly useful in her new life ahead. This became a sudden reminder as she felt the fur continue to spread to her face.

Her hair thinned, blending in with the rest of her fur as a tingling came over her cheeks. Rosita could feel something pushing out, forcing its way out as her new whiskers began to shift slightly. The relentless water was still troubling the developing feline as she blinked, her vision altering as her irises changed, her pupil becoming thinner as she developed the sight of the ordinary house cat.

“Is it…is it over?” wondered Rosita, still trying to make sense of what had happened to her.

Nothing was making any sense.

Rosita, still confused over her predicament, only wanted to escape the pelting water against her new fur. She looked around and as if instinctively, jumped forward. She tried to push the glass door forward to no avail as the warm water continued to make her fur rather wet. She tried again, forcing herself forward as she finally managed to push the door open so she could escape.

She tried walking forwards as she landed, still getting used to her body as she slipped. Rosita fell flat on her face as she quickly righted herself, the full implications of what had happened to her beginning to finally settle in.

As Rosita looked around, she noticed just how much larger the world around her seemed. She couldn’t help but glance around aimlessly as she tried to make sense of what had happened to her. She saw her reflection in a nearby mirror, staring in shock at what had happened to her.

“This…this isn’t possible?!” thought Rosita, struggling to remain calm. After all, people just didn’t randomly transform into cats! Rosita tried to walk on her new legs, stumbling slightly as she did so.

“What…what do I do?” said Rosita, realising a moment later that she had let out a feline yowl. She did it once more, trying to get anyone’s attention. She could hear distant yowling coming from other cats as she looked towards the bathroom window.

Annoyingly, it was locked.

“And these paws…” started Rosita, feeling herself calming even if her fear was being replaced by annoyance. “Aren’t exactly designed to open windows” finished Rosita. Therefore, she looked around once more, noticing the bathroom door.

However, she was noticing the same issue of the doorknob being too high. She didn’t want to try jumping again, lest she fell flat on her face once more.

“I guess all I can do…is wait for Rosalie to come home,” thought Rosita, feeling rather annoyed at her predicament. She laid down, realising she would likely be here a while.

After all, Rosalie would likely still be studying but hopefully, when she got home, she might be able to help.

Hours Later:
The sun was beginning to set, day transitioning into night as the doorknob to the small apartment began to shake.

Rosita’s new ears pricked up, hearing the sound as she meowed out.

“C’mon…I hope she heard me” thought Rosita, glazing back at the door once more.
Meanwhile, Rosalie fumbled with her key for a moment longer before pushing the door open. She breathed outwards, running her hand through her long red hair. She was wearing her light brown jacket on top of a yellow and white jumper with a pair of jeans.

In short, it was Rosalie’s typical fashion choice.

“Home sweet home” mumbled Rosalie, her posture slumped as she, as per usual, felt rather exhausted. All-day studying for the upcoming Samhain exams had been pushing the girl to her limits.

But, for now, Rosalie pushed those thoughts to the back of her mind. She began to walk through the shared apartment, expecting to see her girlfriend on the sofa.

To her surprise, the sofa was vacant. Rosalie continued to look around, listening out for Rosita. Her expression shifted, becoming more worrisome as the quietness of the apartment was becoming increasingly eerie.

“Rosita?” called out Rosalie, her tone concerned as she looked around once more.

At that, Rosita heard Rosalie calling out to her, and how concerned she felt. She meowed out once more, hoping Rosalie could hear her.

“C’mon Rosalie…surely you must realise something is not right,” thought Rosita, trying to keep herself calm.

Fortunately, Rosalie heard Rosita’s call…and became immediately confused by it.

“Wait, we don’t have a cat,” said Rosalie, confusion filling up her being. She managed to narrow the sound down to the bathroom. She cautiously walked towards it, unable to prevent her curiosity from peaking.

After a moment of consideration, Rosalie opened the door. Surprised at what she saw. She eyed the blue housecat who was staring forlornly at her. And while Rosalie couldn’t quite put her finger on it, the feline seemed rather…familiar.

Despite this, she was rather surprised when the cat jumped at her. Rosalie moved back slightly, noticing the lack of grace as she managed to grip the small feline in her arms. She looked down at the housecat, smiling as she shook her head. However, her smile quickly faded away into a frown as she looked outside the window, noticing the small lights beginning to form.

“I guess Rosita couldn’t help herself…deciding to adopt a cat despite our economic troubles” fumed Rosalie, annoyance coming over her. “I swear that when she comes back, she’s getting a piece of my mind” continued Rosalie, feeling the feline in her arms beginning to struggle.

“Rosalie…it’s me!” yowled Rosita, becoming annoyed at the newfound language barrier between them. It was at that point that Rosalie noticed the clothing strewn around on the floor. Frustration increased within her as she scowled at the mess.

“Wow…this is rather unlike her,” thought Rosalie, feeling annoyed at her friend’s unexpected slobbery. As she looked around for likely causes, noticing the shower, Rosalie’s attention diverted to how…unclean she felt.

“I guess I might as well shower before she comes back,” said Rosalie, feeling the cat in her arms immediately begin to struggle.

“No Rosalie, don’t do it!” yowled Rosita, hoping her friend could understand her. Unfortunately, her mews and protests fell on deaf ears as Rosalie momentarily moved out of the bathroom. She, unknowingly, put Rosita down before closing the bathroom door behind her.

Rosita continued to meow in protest, trying to jump up at the door to no avail. She once again felt powerless to do anything as she only hoped that Rosalie wouldn’t use the accursed soap which was responsible for her transformation.

On the other hand, Rosalie felt relatively calm as she proceeded to strip her clothing down. She walked toward the window, opening it lightly to allow the cool air to come in. She smiled in satisfaction, walking over to the shower as she turned the water on.

As the water began to run down, Rosalie looked to her side. She noticed the bar of soap in the holder, confused for a moment at the strange pink colour. She picked it up, noticing the silhouette of a housecat on it.

“Strange?” thought Rosalie, contemplating for a moment before dismissing her thought. After all, Rosita had always had strange interests and a bar of soap was still a bar of soap. She shrugged her shoulders absentmindedly, noticing the water had reached her preferred temperature.

Unknown to Rosalie, the lather from the soap had soaked into her hand. It caused it to tingle, commencing Rosalie’s transformation as she began to clean herself after a long day.

“Still…I wonder where she could be?” thought Rosalie, unaware of the small red hairs that were slowly growing on her hand. She continued to clean herself, the sensations spreading across her body as the changes continued to commence. She lathered herself with the soap as the sensations began to focus around her ears.

As Rosalie continued to wash absentmindedly, her ears began to stretch out. They began to form into points, moving up Rosalie’s head as they became more triangular. Small red hairs began to form at the tips of her developing ears, signalling her developing red fur. All of a sudden, her hearing cut out, quickly being replaced by stronger hearing which, while not overwhelming, was certainly disorienting to Rosalie.

“Wait, what happened?” said Rosalie, trying to make sense of her shifted hearing. It was at that point, that she realised her ears weren’t in their expected place. She reached upwards, noticing her newly changed ears.

Rosalie’s mouth was agape, trying to comprehend what was happening. Although, unlike Rosita, she couldn’t help but feel…joyous about her change.

“I mean, this could be exactly what I’ve wanted,” thought Rosalie, curious as to whether the changes would continue. A tingle near her rear seemed to answer her question as she looked back curiously.

Having already concluded she was changing into some sort of cat, Rosalie was not surprised to see the base of her spine seeming to dislodge. It then began to stretch out, becoming longer and longer as she noticed tips of red fur forming on it. The fur over her ears seemed to be increasing, more pushing out of her back across her spine as Rosalie couldn’t help but feel a sense of euphoria.

“This…could this be the freedom I’ve been looking for?” wondered Rosalie, remembering her worries about rent, her studies, almost everything. In a way, the only solace in her life was Rosita. And something was telling her that Rosita was closer than Rosalie thought.

However, before she could focus, Rosalie could feel her tail shifting around her. Further sensations were coming over her as her attention was drawn to her changing hands.

The small hairs that had formed on her hand had expanded considerably. They had enveloped her entire left hand and, from the look of things, her other hand was not too far behind. Rosalie watched as her hands began to cramp. She watched as her thumbs shrank down into her first digits alongside the rest of her fingers. The loss of flexibility was immediate as she dropped the soap she had been holding.

However, Rosalie paid it no mind as she continued to glance at her hands. She watched as claws began to push out, showing them off momentarily before they withdrew. Rosalie smiled in satisfaction as she began to feel a bubbly feeling inside.

“This…this is amazing” mumbled Rosalie, feeling warmer as the red fur, the same shade as her hair colour continued to spread across her form. She smiled, feeling the sensations spreading down to her feet. She glanced down, noticing her toes shrinking, compressing as her new claws formed. She could feel her pads forming as her balance shifted, forcing her down.

Thankfully, Rosalie’s body shrunk as she went down. The transition was almost natural as the fur continued to spread over her body. As she finished shrinking to her new animal proportions, Rosalie realised that, from the neck down, she was a complete house cat.

“This…this feels so right,” thought Rosalie, feeling a tingling coming over her face. “Yes, please finish…so I can finally be free” continued Rosalie, pushing out the one regret she had in her mind.

The regret that Rosita wasn’t here with her.

Nevertheless, Rosalie could feel her face pushing out, her muzzle forming. Her nose shifted and changed, becoming more sensitive as her whiskers forced their way out of her cheeks. Rosalie mewed in pleasure, her human voice now lost to feline vocals as she blinked. Her eyes shifted, becoming truly feline as she felt her senses increasing. Even as the colour shifted, she could feel her eyesight being truly feline.

She felt a tingling within her mouth as her tongue changed alongside her teeth. She could feel spines forming on it as the thought of cleaning herself crossed her mind. However, Rosalie dismissed this as she felt her teeth changing. They sharpened, becoming fit for the feline she was becoming as her transformation was near completion.

Finally, she noticed her hair thinning. It began to fall to the floor as if Rosalie was discarding her humanity. The red fur continued to spread across her face, her remaining hair blending into it.

“Yes, yes I want this!” thought Rosalie eagerly, feeling the fur finishing spreading across her smaller form. She felt the excitement building up inside of her, clearly looking forward to her new life ahead.

As Rosalie’s transformation completed itself, she mewed in satisfaction. She felt as if all her worries had melted away under the running water of the shower. She could still hear the protests of the other cat from outside.

However, instead of yowls and meows, she could understand them.

“Rosita?” mumbled Rosalie, walking forward as she managed to push open the shower gates. She managed to jump up gracefully onto the bathtub, landing on the floor easily as she walked towards the door.

“Rosita, I can hear you” mewed Rosalie, immediately silencing the cat on the other side. She shook her head, knowing that she had already gotten her answer. She jumped up towards the sink, eyeing the doorknob for a moment.

“Ok, this should work” thought Rosalie, jumping towards the doorknob. As she landed on it, she had to fumble her paws around, struggling as her rear legs dangled below her.

Fortunately, she heard the door opening before she let go. Gravity pulled her to the ground as she landed on her feet. She smiled in satisfaction at her success, being taken off guard as she noticed Rosita approaching her. Rosita seemed to be eyeing Rosalie intriguingly as Rosalie ‘smirked’ in satisfaction.

“So…how do I look?” asked Rosalie, her tail shifting in the air as she couldn’t help but keep smiling. She was already aware of the answer and took in the attention she was getting.

“Absolutely perfect” replied Rosita, walking forward as she stumbled into Rosalie. The lovers embraced as they pushed noses against each other. They cuddled with their paws, their tails batting against each other as the pair enjoyed their intimate moment.

As they continued, they began to feel liberated. Their old concerns fazed them no longer as the pair found their newfound freedom to be relieving. It was like a weight had been taken off their shoulders as the pair finally managed to break their embrace.

As the pair stared at each other, their newfound ear suddenly brought the outside world to their attention. They jumped up, Rosalie assisting Rosita as the pair glanced outside. The nearby rooftop wasn’t far off as the pair stared at each other knowingly.

“You thinking what I’m thinking?” asked Rosalie, still ‘smiling’ as the outside world was becoming more and more curious to her.

“Thinking about exploring?” replied Rosita, noticing her lover nodding in agreement. “Sure, let’s go explore our new playground” finished Rosita, staring at the nearby rooftop as the pair prepared themselves to jump.

After what felt like an eternity, they did so. The pair jumped towards the nearby rooftop as if they were exiting their old lives to begin anew. As the pair stared at the warm glowing lights of the forming night, they could only imagine just how much things were going to get better.

As the pair began to walk together, they felt more than liberated, they felt…free.

Free to move on to a brighter and better future.
