INSTAAAAgram: www.instagram.com/walyco_art/I wanted to try flowers in acrylic :') and mix it with some short of double exposure.
In the process of finding ref I look up some bouquets of flowers and OMG the ones for mariage are so beautiful, original and well balanced in colors ;_;
Also, I'm spending my summer in France so I had to buy acrylics and I realized... I know nothing about painting in acrylic x_x Like I just discovered the differents quality, the fact some pigments cost more & acrylics can be more or less translucent ? Where was I ??? So I have to learn more about that + I want to buy more colors than the primary ones bc it's hard to reach some specific tint. But at the same time I don't want to buy too much paint bc I won't be able to bring it back to Canada (and like, good bye money).

I realize that I'm responding to this way late, so you might have figured most of this stuff out by now, but it's the thought that counts.
Acrylics are nice to work with, and the can mimic the effects of many other media, depending on how you apply them. There is a big difference between quality, and the cheap ones are cheap for a reason, but liquitex makes a nice quality paint that is affordable, if not exactly cheap. I'm not saying there aren't comparable brands, that just happens to be the one I'm familiar with. The hardest thing for most people to get used to is the comparably quick drying time of acrylics. There are advantages and disadvantages to it. If you like to blend colors by layering them, you have to work a bit faster, but there are additives to slow the drying time, that most art supply stores will carry. But they are an incredibly versatile and fun paint to work with. I'm not an expert by any means, and you're a way better painter than I am, but I hope you enjoy working with them.

What you say is really eprtinent ! And indeed, the biggest difference with oils being the drying time the technic can be a lot to different ! I'm just starting to learn about others additives ^^ I have a slow dry but it's so so but I have seen some really great art with acrylic so I will keep trying !

The only paints I have anything resembling experience with are the generic acrylics found in any old craft store. Don't feel too bad.
