Pink Dogwood bloom. The Dogwood tree is the state tree of Pennsylvania. It is widely rumored that it's illegal to cut flowers from a Dogwood but I've done it every spring anyway. I would NEVER cut them in a park or in the wild but in every place I've lived that has them growing ornamentally I cut one or two small branches to mix in with Lilacs, Tulips, Cherry Blossoms... what have you. Mom loves these bouquets so every spring I'll fill a large vase for her. This year we have no Dogwoods and no Lilacs. I'm ordering her a Lilac for Mother's day but Idk if we have room enough on the property to plant a Dogwood Tree. Maybe next year.
