One of my fav new characters created in recent history. At first I hated him. I didn't like the idea of such a huge Bat family however Damian was just too awesome not to love. He's such a crazy little badass. Ya just gotta love him.Related content

Totally agree. Damian is one cool cat and I do love the character. Especially when he called out all the former Robins. I just love how cocky he is.

I love that one part in the comic where Damian just talks smack to everyone just to get them mad. I was like "Yea Damian!" but at the same time I was like "I give you permission to kick Damian's butt".

I can't be mad at Grant. He's done some great work. I almost cried when I read we3 and all star superman is widely regarded as the greatest man of steel story ever.
Grant did create Damian too (or at least re imagine him), so I guess he is allowed to kill him if it was his plan all along (which it was). I just really didn't want him to die, especially like that. It just felt wrong somehow.

No...no that was Batman and robin 18 or19, that silent comic was amazing and made me cry and was done by another writer.
No Grant wrote Batman Inc, which is the comic in which Damian died.... and even though he invented the character, does not mean he knew what to do with him, ironically. Grant wanted to make this character and kill him off early, however fans loved the little shit so much and saw so much potential in him, that he was stopped the first time. Last year or so he finally had permission to kill the kid off and did so... and announced what would happen three days before the comic was out to get more issues on his already failing comic! It wasn't just how he died or when, the reasons around it were horrible as well but the issue after heis death in batman inc... was completely insulting. (I...hate...That....comic!)
Grant may have done good work in the past, but he has also destroyed three iconic characters I loved and respected before hand, and tarnished their character themself. The three I;m talking about are Connr Hawke, Talia Al Gual, and Jason Tod (that was the last staw in my book). He made Connor an angry and unforgiving fighter in his last comic book (and white. what the hell?); Talia a raping, child murdering maniac; and Jason Tod a red headed, balding, rapping, slogan singing, dildo helmet wearing, child sidekick using villain who was just....no. No it was bad. So since then I can't really forgive him at all.

I'm learning to roll with all these things in comics I don't like. There's always going to be something. I mean after they dissolved Peter Parkers marriage and brought his Aunt back from the dead I pretty much accepted that creators are going to fuck with my childhood and there's nothing I can do about it.
It's why I'm starting to read more independent comics and manga. It doesn't annoy me as much.
Now Damian is back I'm stuck thinking "I wonder if it wil be as good as it was before he died... probably not."
We'll just have to see.

So long as Morrison stays away, I have faith...in fact they look like they might have FUN with Damian, something that the Batman and Robin writer was starting to try, but unfortunately his stories were cut short due to the thing....mmm.... *meditates...relaxes* He's getting super powers and they're gonna play with that. I do hope its temporary but at the same time...I wanna see what the writers do with this, how they handle it and what adventures they can use with it. The possibilities seem endless in my book.

I'm entrigued but have no idea how it's going to play out. I guess it all depends on the teams in charge of the books. It could be great or it could not work at all. Guess time will tell.

It took me a while to like him. But once he started to grow up and come to respect his father realize that his father actually knew what he was doing, I started to like him despite myself. It'll be interesting to see where they take him now that he's back.
