Description Well, got a new copy of Metroid Fusion today and started playing it again which inevitably lead to ideas for my Metroid fan game that'll never be made (for previous thoughts, check this pic: [link] ). Figured that since it'd be my idea for Metroid 5, I'd make it Mother Brain kind of again following the order of main game final bosses (Metroid 1: Mother Brain, Metroid 2: A Metroid, Metroid 3: Mother Brain, Metroid 4: a Metroid). But there's a bit of a twist in that this "Mother" might actually be considered a Metroid in its own right. To tell how I guess I should give the description.

Description:

Long long ago the highly advanced race known as the Chozo stumbled upon a distant galaxy, one full of potential but with much less in the amount of animals that it contained. Seeing the opportunity at hand, the Chozo took to molding the system into their own personal experimentation grounds. For years the Chozo in the galaxy lived peaceful lives as they poked and prodded at the curious mysteries of the universe from the planets. Creatures came into existence, new energies were created, and advances beyond humanity's comprehension were made.

Such harmony however was not to last. Eventually a sect of Chozo made an unfortunate discovery upon settling on another far off planet. SR388.

It was there that they discovered the dreaded X Parasite, an entity that, should it get loose, would threaten all of galactic civilization. Something had to be done. Immediately word got back to the galaxy and experiments got underway to find a way to dispose of the foul abominations against nature. Day and night experiments were conducted, specimens that were brought back from SR388 being cycled around the system with pretty much none of the efforts having any affect on the X Parasites what-so-ever.

Pushed to their limit and hesitant as hell, the Chozo decided to perform more unorthodox techniques. Radiation, Nuclear Energy, viruses known to wipe entire civilizations. Nothing worked. Nothing until an accident occurred. Fed up with the fruitless waste of time, a Chozodian scientist mixed together as many types of energy as he could into a specimen. Expecting the warping to simply fizzle out, the scientist was astounded when he was greeted with a new sound. A chirping noise. The new gelatinous being in the testing chamber was floating around and staring at him. In an instant his colleagues had been brought in to bear witness to the being.

Thus began the process of Metroid Research. While the creature did seem to have some predatory effect on the X Parasite it was too much of a danger. It, and the various others of its kind that were created afterwards to improve upon its model, had too varying of levels of the energies built up within them causing them to excrete some kind of bluish radioactive mutagen that was toxic to even be around. To dispose of the dangerous Metroid variants the Chozo launched them offworld towards lethal cosmic structures such as stars since they could not find a way to physically destroy the creatures.

Though the models of Metroids were continually becoming more and more refined into the Ultimate Warrior there was a crisis. The energy. With the amount of energy that the experiments required the Chozo were bleeding the worlds of the galaxy dry. And fast. In one last ditch attempt, the Chozo of the galaxy gathered on the center planet for their final attempt. Synthesizing energy from all the surrounding planets they began to mold a new Metroid entity, its "Egg" being fed by the planet itself. The results were something they never expected.

Instead of the "Egg" hatching more eggs began to sprout up around it. It was a miracle. With the new models that these eggs produced they finally had the specimen they had longed to possess. A creature that could assimilate and destroy X Parasites. Their salvation to the universe. And their damnation.

In the excitement of finally having achieved their "Ultimate Warrior", the Chozo had drifted away from the "Egg" they had created assuming that the entity within would simply keep producing Metroids for them. It would...at a price. What they hadn't taken into account was the maturation rate of the specimen. Unbeknownst to the Chozo, the being within had not even begun to quench its thirst. Like a weed the "Egg"'s influence started spreading throughout the planet sucking dry any and all life it that it could. It wasn't until its effects began to be felt on the surrounding planets that the Chozo took notice. Seeing that they already were in possession of their perfected Metroids, the Chozo decided it was time to shut the project down.

The moment they attempted to dispose of the "Egg" however proved futile. One by one the Chozo within the chamber fell withering away into lifeless husks. Even with Power Suits their lives began to drain surprisingly quickly. Seeing no other alternative the Chozo of the surrounding planets organized a barrier around the tainted planet that would warp whatever vessel that came in contact with it to the side of the planet and cloaked it so that it wouldn't be seen by eyes or navigation devices. They had made it literally impossible for anything to land on or see the planet. So as not to tempt fate any further, the Chozo decided to regroup with their brethren on SR388 as they brought back their findings to deal with the X Parasites.

That took a while to type. Thought up most of it on my walk tonight. "Now that's all well and good but how does Mother Brain factor into this?" you might ask. Well it's not clear until the end of the game (and even then the player might not realize what all has happened), but the game would take place across the galaxy's planets (underground portals link their caves). It would have Anthony from Other M there and would be set after Fusion when Samus and Adam have picked up his distress signal. He tells them that the GF was just there, as far as he knew, to investigate the various experiments that the Chozo had been conducting (obviously Samus and Adam find that reason enough to try and shut down any operations that the GF might have in progress in the galaxy).

As Samus progresses though it soon becomes apparent that the GF aren't the only ones that'd been active on the planet coming across various dead (and also possibly living) Space Pirates. Samus wonders what all they could be doing there and eventually finds a portal to a little sealed off cave on another planet where a dead Space Pirate is lying next to an odd device that's hooked up into the wall which you can see the "Egg" on the other side of.

After defeating all of the bosses in the game Samus the "Egg" would recieve the last of its energy from the last non-final boss which sends Adam on alert from detecting the massive energy surge at the galaxy's center. Unable to find a way to reach the undetectable planet at the galaxy's center Samus would eventually have go back through the portal to the strange cave where she would find the wall now decimated and the "Egg" beyond bursted open. Following the trail of Metroids and decimated surroundings she would run into the first form of Neo Mother which would play out like Metroid Prime's final fight kind of. Being backed into a corner, Neo Mother would flee Samus and make its way to the surface of the strange planet where she would encounter its second form that'd been formed from all the matter it'd come in contact with in the caves combined with its natural growing.

Having been monitoring Samus' adventure through the eyes of the bosses of the game Neo Mother has crafted its body into a primitive organic Power Suit complete with its own Arm Cannon. After dispatching of this form all of the energy that Neo Mother had absorbed would finally take its toll and morph it into its "adult" form that towers over Samus as the original Mother Brain did in Super Metroid. Reborn with the body of the Progenitor of Metroids, Mother Brain assumes control of all Metroids in existence with no resistance what-so-ever to begin its conquest of the universe. Even Samus, since she possesses Metroid DNA, bows before the monster. In the end however, her human consciousness manages to reject Mother and stands up to fight. Dismissing the notion, Neo Mother turns to a group of plants and sucks their life force dry which it then uses to blast a chunk of one of the nearby planets to nothing with its massive Arm Cannon.

The barrier around the planet would've been deactivated allowing Anthony and Adam to fly down to aide Samus during the fight (they eventually get shot down but Anthony still crawls out to try and help). Fearing that her comrades had died a group of Metroids that Neo Mother summons to kill Samus sense her independence (they believe her to be a Metroid as well) and either decide or Samus subconsciously influences them to help her. They would then either form a new armor for her suit or transfer their energies to her allowing her to use the Hyper Beam to combat the one Neo Mother would be using.

Obviously Samus would ultimately kill Neo Mother and the planet begins to fall apart. Upon getting back to the ship and escaping to one of the surrounding ones Adam theorizes that Neo Mother must have become so ingrained into the planet that it must have been what was holding it together and that without it living any longer the planet simply started to collapse.

As for how Mother Brain is back and why it'd be doing this in the first place it would be implied that one of the reasons it was wanting Metroids so much in 1 and 3 were to see how it might better control Metroids. Its mind control worked, but for higher ones like Queens and such it proved to be a bit more troubling to control them. With the "Egg" Metroid however it would be able to control all Metroids so, with the knowledge gathered from its Metroid research, Mother would have had her consciousness hunt down the galaxy that the game takes place in and find a way to have the Space Pirates plant her essence into it. The bosses would be Mother's forces that would be transferring any energy they gathered telepathically to the "Egg" to ultimately revive it.
