Description Fallout 4 meets Borderlands 2: this little guy is the equivalent to a Borderlands 2 weapon manufactured by Tediore. For the uninitiated: Tediore weapons cannot be reloaded. Instead they're tossed away, causing them to self-destruct and explode like a grenade. The player just picks a new version of this weapon created by the digistruct technology mankind copied from the Eridians. On the upside, Tediore weapons are cheap, the explosion does a good amount of damage, and they have the shortest reload time by far.
While there's no such thing as digistruct technology in Fallout, the explosion effect upon reloading is still possible - and a lot of fun. The Zappah! pistol fires tiny plasma charges created from teflon pellets made from recycles circuitry boards. A fusion cells provides energy for 25 shots, after which it has no pellets left. The operator then just pulls a little safety pin out, squeezes the trigger and throws the weapon. This causes the cicuitry board mounted on the side (which originally operated the vaporizer and the accelerator coils) to overload the fusion cell, which makes the weapon explode like a pulse grenade after 2 seconds.
At a total weight of just 1.5 pounds, the weapon is extremely light, have a reload time of about 2.5 seconds, and the plasma charges surrounded by a huge ball of electrostatic energy deal a significant amount of energy damage (base damage is 56). Zappah Pistols can be crafted at the Eisenwolf workbench (as this weapon was created by the Eisenwolf as a small personal defense weapon for the citizens of Fair Haven, in order to replace common sluf throwers as the leas they needed was more useful for the batteries to store the electricity from the city's solar panels and water powerplants). Requiring just 25 fusion cells, circuitry, copper, wood and steel, this weapon is reasonably cheap for its firepower, but it takes a skilled gunsmith and science expert in order to craft it nevertheless.

I really had fun, putting this thing together. Although I only made a few very rough sketches on paper before I created the mesh, it turned out just the way I wanted, it looks crude and cheap, yet it roughly resembles something that MIGHT actually work somehow (if you don't look at everything too closely of course ).

EDIT: Reduced the ignitionj timer to 2.0 seconds and boosted the damage to 64. Now it truly feels viable on very hard mode lvl 95, giving it enough Oompf to justify the weight. When compared to a laser weapon, the player can carry up to four of these in normal gameplay (8 on survival) before the Zappah becomes heavier than a comparable laser rifle (on survival that's the equivalent of a standard laser pistol with the same amount of fusion cells).
