Description
Masami was born in the countryside of Japan, in a poor family who owned rice fields. She didn’t have much, but got by. When she was 15, her parents suddenly fell very ill, and told her to move to Kyoto and train to become a Geisha.

Training was extremely difficult, and Masami thought about giving up. She decided to pray at a temple near the kaburenjo where she trained. While praying, she heard the clinking of metal and the swishing of a kimono. When she opened her eyes, there was a beautiful golden headpiece with an eerie red gem in the center lying next to her. She took it, and a shiver ran up her spine.

The artifact improved her balance and grace, as well as rhythm. She was able to overcome her training issues and graduate to become a full fledged Geisha. Throughout Japan she became famous, known by her Geisha name of Koitama, meaning koi jewel. She was always booked for her graceful dancing, confidence, and soft spoken voice. One night, an artist man presented her a red wagasa with white and black koi painted on it. It has since become her logo. She enjoys her life, but often wonders what happened to her parents, who gave her the artifact, and what her life would have been like if she had not received it.

The equipment she uses are two simple fans and a suzu, along with a koto occasionally. She mainly uses her looks and conversational skills to entertain the men that hire her.
