Description The mist clung to your tunic and leggings uncomfortably as you overstepped roots and branches. There was a scent of moisture that danced with the various Earthy smells. You hopped over a small stream, watching the clear yet murky water glisten white. Beads of liquid flew in the air as it collided with rocks, the moss surrounding greedily drinking it up.

Your blue eyes scanned the forest, taking in the contrasting colors of greens and blacks. You followed in pursuit after Aragorn and Legolas, watching how graceful their limbs moved. Oh, how you missed the pranks you and Pippin would pull on the Fellowship. The thoughts only made you more eager to find the Hobbits.

“There is something eerie about these forests.” You hushed. Gimli grunted in approval to your words as he trailed behind you, caution abiding in your footsteps. “These are strange tracks.” Aragorn whispered as he knelt on the moss, hand lingering over the ground.

You pounced over a fallen over tree, halting behind Legolas. You peered over his arm, watching the human warrior in interest. “The air is so close in here… It is strange.” Gimli whispered from behind you. Your black hair shuffled in approval as you nodded. “Dense and almost… familiarly evil. Something stirs in the mist.” You spoke.

Legolas was enchanted, eyes studying the bark on each tree. “This forest is old… Very old; Full of memory… And anger.” You continued to walk, grazing a hand over the dark moss of an aging tree. “It must remind you of home.” You whispered. The Elf’s glare met yours, and he answered with a simple nod from his head.

Your Elven ears twitched at a sudden sound… Creaking. You moved on your feet, looking around. Where was the sound coming from? It sounded like the trees. “The trees are speaking to each other.” Legolas hissed. “Gimli!” You turned around to see the Dwarf, his axe raised in defense. “Lower your axe.” Aragorn commanded.

Gimli reluctantly did as he was told, eyeing the condensed trees bitterly. “Something’s out there.” Legolas spoke in Elvish, staring at Aragorn with an intense knowledge. “What do you see?” Aragorn muttered. You climbed the small hill behind them, edging beside Legolas. You were an Elf too; you simply couldn’t let the prince out-rule you.

Before you could muster the words, Legolas whispered as soft as possible. “The White Wizard approaches.” Aragorn gulped, clearly not prepared to meet with this man during our trek. “Do not let him speak. He will put a spell on us.” He warned. You nodded vaguely, placing your slender fingers around the hilt of your sword.

At the drop of a pin you turned around, ripping the sword from its scabbard with fierce power. A bright light shown as you let out a battle cry, ready to run forward. Legolas shot an arrow, but it did no harm, for the White Wizard deflected both his and Gimli’s weapons. You felt a searing pain shoot through your hands as you released your sword, watching your blade light up from heat. You now stood, staring into the light, trying to make out the face of the Wizard.

“You are tracking the footsteps of two young Hobbits.” He spoke. Your blue eyes widened as you hissed, taking a daring step forward. “Are they in your possession, fiend?” You snapped. Legolas stared at you, growling. “(Y/n).” He warned. The White Wizard snorted, “And does an injured bee collect honey?” You were dumbfolded by his riddle.

You muttered a soft curse, knuckles white as your hands ground into fists. “They passed this way the day before yesterday. They met someone they did not expect. Does that comfort you?” The wizard spoke. You stiffened at his words. Of course it did not. “Who are you?” Aragorn whispered. “Show yourself!” What your eyes lay upon confused you.

It was Gandalf. You blinked multiple times, rubbing at your eyes as if you weren’t seeing correctly. The Fellowship was just as stunned as you. “It must be a trick…” You whispered. Legolas knelt on his knees, bowing before Gandalf. You, too grief stricken to stand, did the same, eyes staring into the dirt. “A trick… It must be.” You mumbled to yourself.

“You fell…” Aragorn hissed in disbelief. “Through fire and water. From the lowest dungeon to the highest peak I fought with the Balrog of Morgoth.” Your eyes cautiously wavered back up to the old Wizard, standing on unsteady legs. “Until at last I threw down my enemy and smote his ruin upon the mountainside.” He spoke with a newfound bitterness.

Gandalf started off again. “Darkness took me and I strayed out of thought and time. Stars wheeled overhead and everyday was as long as a life age of the Earth.” You furrowed your brows at him. “But it was not the end. I felt life in me again. I’ve been sent back until my task is done.” You listened to every word that felt the man’s mouth.

“Gandalf…” Aragorn whispered. You let his name leave your lips as well, staring into his deep eyes. Oh, how much you loved the company of the old wizard. You were very glad he was alive! “Gandalf?” He questioned. You glanced at Gimli, then at Legolas, fear in your heart. Did he forget who he was?

After a few seconds, light seemed to shine through Gandalf’s head. He smiled mischievously. “That was what they used to call me. Gandalf the Grey.” You sighed, a smile lightning up your clear face. “That was my name.” You jumped in excitement, eyes blazing in few found hope. Gandalf looked deep into Aragorn’s eyes, “I am Gandalf the White.”

You didn’t care what title Gandalf now held. It was the matter the Wizard was back that made you jump in glee. You leaned against Legolas, looking up at him with a gentle smile. In the gleaming darkness you hadn’t noticed the light beam of pink rise on his cheeks and ear tips as he ruffled your perfect black hair, laughing softly out his nose.

When you glanced up at Gandalf and Aragorn, you felt a sudden change in the Wizard’s features. Gimli noticed it as well. “And I come back to you now at the turn of the tide.” He turned around and started walking, looking up at the sky. You followed behind Gimli and Legolas, taking up the rear. “There is danger a foot and I will not sit by while it unfolds.” Gandalf spoke.

You kept a firm hand on your sword, eyeing the dense bushes and the darkness that lurked. You didn’t trust a single thing besides the Fellowship at this point. “One stage of your journey is over. Another beings.” You heard the Wizard speak. “War has come to Rohan. We must ride to Edoras with all speed.”

“Ride? We do not have any horses.” You whispered amongst your breath. “Do not fret, (Y/n).” You could practically hear the smile on his face. “A Wizard never comes unprepared.” A small snort left your nose as you laughed, rolling your eyes. What has he got up his sleeve?

The Fellowship found their way out of Fangorn Forest and into the light, where you stretched your limps to bask. “I was beginning to miss day light.” You grinned. Legolas smiled brightly down at you, nodding. “It is quite fulfilling.” He agreed. Gandalf whistled a great whistle that echoed throughout the plains. That Wizard was just too damn majestic.

A large neighing sound caused you to glance at your far left, a pure white horse galloping in the distance. “That is one of the Mearas, unless my eyes are cheated by some spell.” Legolas whispered. You watched it in awe as it sprinted, galloping in a circle before coming to stop before Gandalf. “Shadowfax.” Gandalf purred. “He is the lord of all the horses...” You giggled softly. There is a lord for horses as well? How complex.

“…And has been my friend through many dangers.” Gandalf stroked the beast’s nuzzle compassionately. With another whistle and a loud neigh from Shadowfax, you waited patiently. Three more horses came after several heartbeats, in which you jumped onto one swiftly. Gimli was left to hold onto Legolas on the back of his, and Aragorn sat bravely on his own horse. “Off to Edoras!”

Viggo, who plays him, did. But in the actual script, Aragorn didn't break his toes.

I didn't know the actors name, but that's what I meant. I found that pretty interesting though, how he kept acting instead of stoping.
