I saw this picture (www.instagram.com/p/BNJV4CHBJt… ) and I just ad to recreate it
I really like the colors in this one. I tried to do a messier style this time, I think it looks decent. This was a self indulgent painting, enjoyed it the entire time (except when I spent forever deciding what background I wanted). I thought about doing it in oil painting style, but.. I guess that didn't happen. I need more realistic brushes. oh well.Critiques and suggestions please! Or just tell me what your favorite color is and why

You did an excellent job making something new from the original picture, love the short defined brush strokes and how you approached her hair. And honestly think the colors look cooler in your style.

I read that you spent time deciding the background. When I'm stuck in some part, I leave the drawing for a moment, sometimes a day before continuing painting. That help me a lot.

Thanks for the tip! I should do that more, sometimes I just get in the flow and I feel like walking away is a loss, you know? but I really should more often.
