REMARKS: Above is shown the Main Guardian Tower of the Forbidden City. It was a huge tower, of which only the uppermost has been depicted here. Like most other of the buildings of the Noble Race, it was built over thousands of years of solid masonry, with tremendously strong wooden roofs. The overall style of such structures had kinship to those of our Middle Ages in Europe, as the historically minded visitor would notice. All of such defensive towers were linked by causeways serving for both movement of the defenders and their Servitor Beasts and obviously for additional defense in the vast scheme of this City-States fortifications. As already noted, despite their extreme age, compared with our Earthly "ancient" edifices, careful maintenance kept them in commendable shape over many millions of years! WWL
