Description
We couldn't stay and drink with Tony for long, because we still had children to pick up from school and make supper. Still we were confidant that we struck them pretty hard for them to try anything, and we took the guns and truck with us out to our house in the woods since they would never look there. Korina then grabbed her truck to pick up the kids, and I got to work hiding the pistols and rifles. I played kuub with my son and daughters in the back while Korina was working on stir-fry, and after games I thought I'd check on her while the kids were wrestling in the living room.
"...He was what?..." Korina said, ears backing as she listened, "...He's gonna make it right? What have the doctor's said?..."
"Something happen?" I asked as I walked closer with a soft voice,
"...I'll keep a look out. He didn't deserve this." Korina then hung up the phone, "Jasper and his gun store was attacked." She looked to me, "I think they were looking for the guns there."
"They took everything there, didn't they." I asked, but I knew the answer, "I'll check on them tomorrow then, turn a few rocks over."
"Want me to come with you?" She asked, but I shook my head. "Why not?"
I looked over to the kids that were pinning Marshal to the ground and tickling him. "We're stepping into some rough stuff, someone has to make sure they stay out of it."
"I get it now." Korina said, "Sure, Let me call a few people." Then she started dialing on her phone.
I walked back into the living room and got the girls to back off of Marshal, then they all went to tackle me to the ground. Pretty goofy little ones, so innocent and loving. So much energy too, they wore me out by the time Korina came in. I was lying on the floor and panting while the three were playing with a soccer ball and plushies.

She, thankfully, took over for me so I could get some water. Then while I was pouring myself a glass, I was met by Cynder.
"Is everything okay?" Cynder asked
I smiled to her and shook my head, "Nah, kid, we're just dealing with some adult things." I turned off the water and grabbed my glass, "Don't look in my head."
"That just makes you sound suspicious, Dad." She said as she followed me back to the living room.
"We've got things handled." I said, "You and your siblings are gonna be fine, we're here for you through it all."
"Are you sure?"
I knelt down to her before we got close to the others and rested a hand on her shoulder. "You know me, Nothing stops me. I come back from everything." I kiss her head, "Nothing will stop me from being there for you."
She gave me a small hug, "Okay Daddy." She said and then ran to join the others. I still had a feeling she didn't believe me, yet it pushed me somehow to prove it to her.
