Yes we did - though I didn't quite remember how.
My limbs were all weak, and noting how my pose was - body laid lamely against the slippery rocks and legs wading in the shallow water - I was sure that Michiru had helped me up and had saved me from drowning.
In the dim tranquil light, I saw Michiru gasping like a fish, her breasts heaving heavily and her mouth agape coughing out water. As for myself, I was already breathing fairly ok, thanks to Michiru, but my throat and nostrils ached terribly and overall I felt very weary and lightheaded.

"Wel, welcome to my cove, my Liege. Cough. Cough."
....Michiru, are you okay?
"Yes. Sorry, according to Protocol, cough, I had to bring you safer and more comfortable. I, am, truly, sorry. Cough."
....It's okay. Let's try to catch our breath first.
"You are very kind, my Liege. It's that, I'm not a fully grown mermaid. I can, swim, underwater for only about four and a half minutes max. But with more practice and growth, I should be able to serve you better."
