Description Cricketpaw's assessment! He's a good hunting, far better than he is a fighter. He's also got a good amount of endurance and can hunt for ages until tiring.
In this picture, which I wanted to make colourful and kind of surreal I suppose, Cricketpaw is taking down his last piece of prey for his assessment, a second squirrel which he knows will impress his mentor and clan leader Wolfstar and hopefully garantuee his place as a warrior of RockClan.
The cat in the background, in the treeline, is Wolfstar spectating Cricketpaw's work since Riverstone was not available himself.

------------

Cricketpaw- The apprentice wasted not a second longer before he sped off, brushing underneath the clan's camp entrance and breaking out into the open territory. His whiskers twitched and his paws curled into the ground. Cricketpaw was a remarkable hunter, Riverstone had taught him to focus on his surroundings like he would hunting crickets and to use his speed and endurance to chase down prey with ease.
The ginger tabby toms eyes darted left and right, focusing on everything for less than a second before moving on, he was looking out for movement. His left ear twisted to one side as a very faint squeak echoed in the distance, the tom swiveled silently, his paws pressing against the ground silent like snow. He narrowed his eyes on the culprit of the squeak, a large plump mouse was sitting upon a small stone in the not too far distance. This was going to be Cricketpaw's first catch and in so little time since starting his assessment, he knew he couldn't fail, not when he was doing the one thing he was best at; hunting. The apprentice crouched low, creeping closer and closer to the mouse, every now and then when the opportunity arose, his creep turned into a quickened, quiet, low running. One second he was behind a bush, the next behind a rock, the next he was right behind the rodent and all without it even noticing. Cricketpaw's eyes narrowed and focused on the plump mouse, his tongue slightly stuck out from one side of his mouth, a little hunting habit of his. Without waiting for the rodent to detect him and alert the concrete forest of his activities, Cricketpaw lifted a paw and slammed it down hard on the mouses head, muffling its shrieks to pointless murmurers before rapidly biting down on its neck, killing it instantly and as painlessly as he could.
That was one kill down but Cricketpaw remembered not to let himself get too carried away, his luck could easily change as he continued on. The apprentice scooped out a shallow hole into the soft soil beneath his ginger paws and placed the mouse into the tiny ditch, before brushing the soil back over it with his hind legs. With that out of the way, he once again took off, making sure every step he took was carefully placed and soundless.
Within a good amount of time, the apprentice had been successful in his assessment, he had already caught one mouse, a vole, a chaffinch, a squirrel and a blackbird. He was tiring but he wasn't about to give up, he knew he could at least make one more kill to impress his leader, he however just wished that his mentor was here to see him on a roll, he knew Riverstone would be as proud as a new father.
Cricketpaw took a deep breath, relaxing his muscles for a few moments before rising to all fours, his short break time was over, now he had to get back to work. Luckily for the orange and white tabby apprentice an opportunity presented itself almost instantly, the shuffling of the bushes was a dead give away. The apprentice turned to face the racket before pinning his eyes on a large and long bushy brown tail, a squirrels tail. Perfect! Squirrels were a difficult meal to catch, if Cricketpaw could catch two in one day, he knew he was bound to pass with flying colours!
The apprentice took a silent inhale and crouched down, slowly making his way closer to his target. Not long to go, just a mouse tail away... just a little further... He pounced into the air, arms stretched out in front of him, unsheathed claws gleaming in the sunlight marking the squirrels demise. Cricketpaws leap was beautiful and elegant, he almost appeared to be soaring through the sky like a kestrel diving for its prey with such grace and precision. It was a trademark of Cricketpaw's, his impressive silent and smooth jumps and leaps. The squirrel didn't suspect a thing and before it could even cry out, the apprentice was already on top of it, wrenching his teeth neatly into its neck, killing it quickly and cleanly.
The apprentice pulled back, his eyes calm until realization struck. He had caught a goldmine of food! He had done it! He knew he had! He was going to become a warrior, finally he could show those RockClan cat's that he was more than a hyperactive chatter box. Cricketpaw stopped himself as he felt his heart racing with glee, nothing was said and done yet, maybe Wolfstar wanted a bit more from him... He'd have to wait and see... And with that, Cricketpaw gently sat down, taking long deep breaths to regain his energy while he waited for Wolfstar to come out from the shadows.
