Welcome to the ship family Twin capes! The MV Twin capes was a ferry that was built in 1975 for the DRBA fleet (Delaware River and Bay authority) and went on voyages from Lewes beach Delaware Via Cape May New Jersey until she was sold and scuttled On June 15th, 2018 to be used as an artificial reef. I was actually on her a few years ago before she was sunk And they rebuilt a new one that still sails and departs from the same place.

The other ships that were/are in the total fleet were SS Delmarva, SS Pocahontas, SS Princess Anne, USS Buncombe County LST-510 (Used to be named Cape henelopen) MV Delaware, (her sister ship), MV New Jersey, and MV Cape Helelopen. She, Her sister Ship, and MV New Jersey were apart of the 70s fleet. ( I got most of this info from their wiki page) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_May…

Here are some facts about my gijinka of her that I wasn’t able to fit in:

-She liked to play with sea creatures during her voyages and during her breaks. Her favorites are Sharks and Dolphins.

-Her Shark embroider patch on her shirt is similar to what I did with SS France, As a reference to her funnels being shaped like a shark’s tail. She also has a tattoo on her arm but it’s the Operator Company’s initials (DRBA).

Later on I’ll make Gijinkas of the other Ferries in the fleet too, starting with her sister Ship MV Delaware.
